Yup, upcoming PS3 game Uncharted 2 gets a mathematically impossible score of 21/20. http://goonlinegames.net/2009/09/14/psm3-gives-uncharted-2-2120/ That's the French version, by the way. The verdict translates to: "Long, visually stunning, deep and explosive, Uncharted 2 combines all the qualities you can find in a videogame, and more. A new milestone has been reached in videogame history." It also got a 5/5 in the US PSM. And before you say "Of course it'll get high ratings from the OFFICIAL Playstation magazine!" Check their other ratings. The reviews are hardly biased. I mean, 21/20? Seriously. But once you come to the simple conclusion that Uncharted 2 > Math, it all starts to make sense. Leave it to the French to start breaking game scores.
This is interesting. Aren't the French stating that the PSM3 is above an actual perfect score? It's mathematically correct, I guess if they calculated right. Plus, it is possible. It could've received bonus points in a feature that wasn't expected. I don't really know, just theorizing here.
Strange, it says we can find all the qualities of a video game we could want in this one yet it still looks like something i'd never play. Funny how reviewers have fallen. Besides, if your concerned with the 21/20 thing well I could scan a page from an old copy of Play Mag that I have where Lego Star Wars got an 11/10. It basically means nothing other than they liked the game or they didn't review it well and had an overly biased view (which is probably what happened from how the console mags have gone in the past year).
