Unchained χ[chi] Season 2 Coming This Month & Will Be Called 'Kingdom Hearts Union X[cross]'

The second season of 'Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ[chi]' that Tetsuya Nomura had been hinting at in the past has been announced, with the game being renamed 'Kingdom Hearts Union X[cross]'. Check out a trailer below:

The update will be released in Japan sometime this month. No international release date currently known at this time.

With Kingdom Hearts: Union χ, players can create teams of six from their party members or through a matchmaking feature to fight hordes of Heartless enemies and powerful bosses. Players can also take on quests of increasing difficulty as well as unique new missions. To help these teams of friends communicate with each other, the game will now include emotes and text bubbles. Players will encounter both familiar and new faces as the story of the Unions continues to unfold, and the new “Theater Mode” will allow players to relive the drama and rewatch cutscenes.

What does he mean by a "second season"? New story quests and stuff, right? If so I hope the old ones are still accessible, I'm only like a 3rd of the way through.

It's supposed to be a continuation of the story, so I would assume it's like you said, just new story quests and other stuff (in addition to a new name). I'm pretty sure the old quests will remain.

I'm not entirely caught up with Unchained, but it seems like this'll overlap with some of Back Cover and I'm excited for the Keyblade Graveyard to be included in the game finally.

The real question is whether they end it with "season three" before KH3 though.

I really hope at some point in the future that this game will get the same treatment that Coded got and get a release on a handheld console or even a home console like a proper KH game.
