Uh oh?

this is a HUGE rumor i've been hearing about from MANY people.......it all started a few days ago when i FINALLY got my driver's license. when i was taking my picture for the ID, the lady asked if i was an organ donor. so i said yes. but when people took a look at my they gave me a concerned look and asked why i became an organ donor. so i told them "it's not like i'm going to be needing them when i'm dead anyways". but then they told me "don't you know? if hospitals see organ donor, they won't try as hard to save you, they won't do anything to kill you, but they just won't try as hard to save your life" and then they also told me that within ONE minute of death being declared is when they harvest your organs, which is a LITTLE concerning to me because i always thot the whole miraculous resurrection thing is common. and since different people who dont' even know each other told me this, i'm a LITTLE worried now.........

 

well the answer is simple....DONT DONATE ORGANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

 

Well if they harvest your organs within a minute of your death, you'll be dead anyway.

 

But how certain is death?

don't people sometimes come back to life or something (not sure if that's just on TV)

Well it depends. People's hearts has stopped for a while, but of course the brain is still ticking so with perseverance the heart can start again beating. You can always change the donor thing when you go in to renew it though. Donating is always nice but once your dead it wont matter how nice you are~

 

that's very true, but i dont' wna GET dead because i was a donor. i want someone to be able to re-use my organs but i dont' really want them to not try hard because of the organ donating.

 

Dont worry, they wouldnt not try to save you because you're a donor. Especially since there are many procedures in place to make sure that you are dead and that your organs are useable. Although once you are determinded to be dead, they do have to move pretty fast to get the organs out so that they are still useable.
