Kingdom Hearts II Twilight Town - Roxas and surroundings

I never really understood how Roxas could live in Twilight Town while being under the illusion of that being his real life. My main issues:

- Parents. He has a place to live, because we see him waking up. So doesn't he also have parents? Makeshift ones at least? And what about the parents of Hayner, Pence, Olette, Seifer, and all the other kids? And if he doesn't, how can he live so normally?

- What about his memory? Does he remember things from before the last seven days? Does he have fake memories from before that? If he doesn't remember anything at all from before it, why doesn't he comment on that?

- Twilight town is always in twilight. How is everyone okay with that? How does it make sense that they go to sleep at twilight and wake up with twilight? How does it make sense that nobody notices the green slimey data hills that surround Twilight Town?

I know that I shouldn't I be thinking about this too much, and that it probably doesn't matter in the bigger picture, but it still doesn't make sense. Is this part of the game just sloppy in development?

My main question is I guess, why does Roxas still believe his life is real under such crazy circumstances?

 

Well yes crazy circumstances...but his memories were relaced hence why he knew hayner pence and ollete....and here everything is...aznd he does have momeries befor as it says when hayner mentions the beach and not being able to go the previous year. as for oparents...well does it show you roxas getting dressed and showering? It probably just skips that...and the data hills are probably just sloppy programming however if theyre meant to be there...well if youd lived there your whole life itd just be part of the scenery.

 

Square Enix is never really sloppy, they just make some parts where you have to assume.

In Kingdom Hearts I, we hear Sora being called down for dinner in the beginning. After that point, we can only assume his parents were returned to the island at the game's end. Since the world is indeed a makeshift one, the real Hayner, Pence and Olette might have parents, but the ones Roxas knows are only data. Since DiZ could make whatever memories he wanted Roxas to have while he was there, Roxas probably didn't have parents. It would have been more complicated if there were two real people in the real Twilight Town that were not parents, only used as data for fake ones. They also would not have really had a place in the story after that.

Roxas doesn't remember anything about his life with the Organization until he begins to meet Namine, and things begin to happen. He probably has fake memories of how he grew up there and such. Again, we have to assume he does have fake memories, and that he doesn't recall anything from his organization life, because of his surprise when he meets Axel. If he doesn't indeed have memories, he is probably given some reason as to why that is, and doesn't need to question it. I think it's safe to say he does have a fake past, whatever that is.

That's like asking why the characters in Halloween Town always dress up. They live with it because they have always lived with it, and it's their way of life. The data Twilight Town people aren't real, so they won't notice things they aren't meant to notice, like the girl in the window.
