Started playing it today. It's my first exposure to the game and the remake of the game. I really enjoy the concept, story, art style, pretty much everything except the gameplay. I can see how the gameplay would be fantastic were it not on ios. Its a huge pain to play, but ill keep playing just for fun and ignore its problems.

As much of a pain as it is to play, it does make me want to play the ds version. Almost all of the problems I have with it would be irrelevant on the ds.

It is not a series. There is one standalone game and a crappy but still kind of okay remake of that standalone game.

Jube will be happy to know this.

im aware, however since there is now more than one game, what else would you call it?

I would call it a game and a remake of the game. They are the same game. If there is one game that is on many consoles, is that a series?

I really do not care about gaming jargon. maybe if I was a gamer I would

CoM and RE:CoM are not the same game. twewy and tweyw:SR are not the same game. same story, different game

It's still just one game. Companies make the same game for different platforms all the time. Just because this one was created a few years later doesn't change that fact. It's just one simple game.

One a side note, I find it funny how people are going nuts about the game being ported to iDevices. I've had some time playing TWEWY recently. To me, it's nothing special. The story is okay, but the gameplay is complicated. I like the pin things but having to use both screens is just confusing. I'm not sure if I was just born different, but I cannot hold the DS, use the stylus, and use the arrow keys at the same time without looking uncomfortable. Its not challenging gameplay, it's way too messy to try to be different. And yes, I know there's a feature that allows the computer to take control of the top screen, but doesn't that take away from the "creative gameplay". /needlessrant

Yes, but COM and Re:COM are not two different parts of a series. They represent the same segment of the story as a whole. That's what defines a part of a series. Would you call Fahrenheit 451 in paperback and Fahrenheit 451 in hardback two parts of a series?

depends on the contents of the book.

if the only difference between the games was the system they were on i would agree, but the remakes of both games have significant changes from their original installment.

I think it actually takes a more advanced than normal mind to be able to play TWEWY and get the full experience out of it. I'm a great multitasker, so I did fine.[DOUBLEPOST=1346201038][/DOUBLEPOST]
THEY ARE THE EXACT SAME STORY. NO CONTENTS CHANGE WHEN YOU TAKE A PAPERBACK BOOK AND REPRINT IT AS A HARDBACK BOOK. THE ONLY THING THAT MIGHT, MIGHT, CHANGE IS THE COVER.

But that doesn't change that the stories are exactly the same. A series is where two or more works come together to form a coherent story. Regardless of if they have significant changes, they are not two different parts of the series. They are the same part of the series with changes to the game, not the story. The concept of a series refers to the story, not the game. It's like saying that a movie adaptation of a book is a continuation of that book.

Don't get mad at me because you made a terrible comparison.

If it will help you sleep tonight I will change it for you. It's obvious technicalities are a big deal to you.

Actually, it's semantics that are a big deal to me.

    That's not semantics, that's spelling.

And you could have just said, "the game," you know.

I was referring to the series game and the remake of the game in general, not the specific game remake.

Yeah, but they're basically the same game. One is just a crappier version that takes away more than it adds.

    That changes nothing.

After all, I changed it to what you thought was appropriate originally. Make up your mind.
