Pretty much what the title says.

I would like to see a sub-forum in Both Gaming and Technology for tutorials that would help people with easy/difficult things regarding gaming for the gaming section and technology for the technology section.

And No, I'm not talking about somewhere to post "I'm stuck at this in that game."

I got the idea while writing this post. I think there's a lack of areas for tutorials regarding "tricks," and "fixes." You have the Tutorials thread in the graphics section (which I guess could potentially be a third sub-forum).

I just think I, personally, and probably many others have a whole bunch of tips and tricks when it comes to technology and games, for example how to set up Hamachi, Minecraft Servers, Overclocking, Setting up a POP e-mail, Finding and installing codecs, setting up RSS, editing your firewall, accessing your router (port forwarding), etc.

Yes, there are other tutorials around the web, but none located here. If I or anyone else were to write a tutorial, it would also be easier to help people understanding it, rather than linking to another tutorial.

    Opinions, yay or nay?

For now I think a sticky linking to these tutorials would suffice--we don't know if it would be popular enough to warrant a subforum. If the sticky begins to grow long/unorganized I'd have no problem turning it into its own subforum.

Where would you want the tutorials posted in the meanwhile then? Technology for games as well?

I would rather separate it by section, as in one in Technology, one in Games, etc. I don't think people really post many tutorials/walkthroughs in Gaming, though, and there is always the search function. We assume that people would use it before creating a thread--therefore, if someone has written some sort of tutorial on a subject, it should show up.

This would definitely be a good idea, but in retrospect the need for a separate section would indeed require the popularity of making such tutorials from the community. A sticky or perhaps a sequence of threads should be a fine alternative for the moment, but personally I am quite alright with sections if, as aforementioned, there is a large influx of tutorials and the like. Of course, tutorials - particularly in regards to technology especially - would be extremely beneficial and popular in general, and if we have a few pioneers in regard to tutorial threads, it may kickstart a trend. Similar chains have occurred on other forums, to my knowledge. Not only that, but a section dedicated to the aforementioned would by definition encourage tutorials since it would give members a larger area in which they could present their tutorials, and plant ideas in their head through the board's very existence.

Personally, I am fine either way - we can definitely sticky a single thread in each section, or the boards can be created at least as a test run of sorts. In regards to being a test run, I do not believe it would take much effort to affix two new test boards to the forum, but please, correct me if I am wrong.
