~Triwizard Tournament~ Discussion/OOC

Note: This is an original Role-Play based on the Harry Potter universe. It will take place in an alternate reality where Harry and company never existed. There was no Lord Voldemort *shiver* or Dumbledore or any other canon characters from the series. Except for maybe a few cameo-styled references, no main characters from the series existed (save for historical figures). Because the RP will focus on the Triwizard Tournament and not much has been shown about how the other two wizarding schools (Durmstrang and Beauxbatons) function, I will take some liberty and make up Houses for the two. Also, I may add new elements from other series (Mortal Instruments and Hunger Games are two I'm considering) so you may see a few terms from those series floating about.

Rules:

1. Obvious rules: No godmodding, powerplaying, etc. despite how tempting it may be in this RP. Follow all of KHV's rules, be nice to each other, follow the rest of my rules, etc.
2. Like I said: this is an alternate reality version of the series. Hence, no characters from the actual series aside from historical figures will have existed. References may be made, but do not use any of those characters or try to make a copy of any of them.
3. Some knowledge of the series is obviously required, but you don't have to be a hardcore fan to join. Most things will be explained in the RP. And you can always visit the wiki for help
4. The Tournament will be the main part of the RP, but not the only part. So there actual courses and other events will be shown. This is a Hogwarts RP after all!
5. Students from any year are allowed, but keep in mind the Triwizard Tournament rules (if you're a first year, you obviously can't be in the Tournament).
6. The Champions and Tributes will be selected by those actually enter the Tournament. Obviously, not everyone can be in it. I will select the Champions and Tributes and partner them up out of everyone who shows interest in being one. However, all Role-Players will have a role in the RP so don't worry!
7. Keep in mind your character's year/age and the level of the spells that they know. I will allow you full discretion in what spells you can use, but if I think something's a bit too high level for your character, I will talk to you about it.
8. Hogwarts allows students to bring in a pet owl, cat, or toad. For the sake of the RP, I will allow any student, regardless of school, to have a small pet. Could be owl, cat, toad, or something else, but must be small and easy to take care of. It could also be magical in nature, similar to Crookshanks' half-Kneazle status in the books, but think about whether the school would consider it too dangerous for a student.
9. No creating new spells (without first letting me know) or creatures.
10. I reserve the right to add new rules, but I will let you know if I do.

Personality: Rough around the edges, Luke has a tough time making friends due to his tendency to assume authority over others because of his intelligence. This has led him to being somewhat secluded from others, something he doesn't mind. He's very curious. He considers himself a know-it-all.
Biography: Luke was born pure-blood to a Wizarding couple who ran a magical beast reserve. Thus, he learned a lot about fantastic beasts from his parents. He had a habit of sneaking off into the less dangerous animals' habitats, despite his parents strictly forbidding it. However, shortly before he was enrolled into Hogwarts, an experience at the reserve left him traumatized and he has yet to return, though he hasn't told a soul. At 11 years old, the Sorting Hat almost placed him into Slytherin, but Luke was able to smooth-talk the Hat into placing him in Ravenclaw (with the Sorting Hat noting that it seemed appropriate for a smooth talker). Like most other Ravenclaws, he made a name for himself in his classes by showing off his wit. Although not as smart as some his housemates, he takes pride in his colors. Though he has excelled in Defense Against the Dark Arts, Potions seems to be his Achilles' Heel. DADA, Apparition, Alchemy, Transfiguration, Charms, and Potions (to his chagrin) fill his schedule.

Personality: Very judgmental. Has never told a lie in her life (LIES, YOU SAY!) but that in itself has made it very hard for her to make any friends. Normally keeps to herself and her studies and is very grounded. Dislikes any kind of trouble, and even through some of her jokes, she is serious all the time.
Biography: Half-blood. Eden has had a 'thin-ice' reputation as a child. After an encounter with a dementor, it was surprising that Eden could still talk normally. Her father, who works with Azkaban affairs was more than stunned to find that a dementor had actually listened to a child that one of the prisoners was planning to escape. And that child was of his own blood. The prisoner, after interrogation, admitted to the deed After his wife heard this, both parents knew Eden would be a witch, if a very different one.
She never made friends other than her family, and she was very atuned to animals, including ones of the Wizarding World. She also averaged well in studies. She's been this way for all her life in Hogwarts, yet no one's managed to converse with her, other than her owl, Heirophant.

Other: Owns a pet owl named Heirophant. Animals and other creatures (including monsters of Dark magic) tend to listen to her.

 

Accepted as long as there's a very good reason why creatures specifically listen to her. Especially Dementors as they have only been shown loyal to those who offer them the most victims.

 

In her case with the Dementor, she did provide a potential victim. As I specified, she hasn't lied once in her life.....Yet.

 

Regardless, a child being able to make a Dementor listen to her by providing one potential victim is a little far-fetched, I would think.

No set number as long as you're comfortable controlling however many you make and can keep up with them. I would four or five (assuming one or two professors), but that's flexible~
