I've been wondering about a few things that are in Traverse Town. How come the Dalmation's home seems to be exactly as in their own home world, and why is Merlin's tower the same one that he uses in The Sword in the Stone? Did these things just come to Traverse Town when the worlds were taken or what?

Good question, I suppose it's just to put them into their natural habitat or they wanted a proper merge of all Disney worlds. Or maybe the characters just made decorated their homes to look as they did in their home worlds. I highly doubt they came to Traverse town with their actual houses since they were probably destroyed. Maybe they did decorate their new homes in TT to look like their original ones to help them feel more at home. Otherwise, it's just a gameplay thing to help you feel like you know the place like with the other Disney worlds.

I guess that the same way the hearts of those were strong enough to survive and end in Travese Town, their "homes" could have be saved also.

In the case of Merlin, he is still a magician, I think he is capable of taking his house in an small bag and going to Traverse Town by his own feet xD.

but even still, how can you just suddenly make a random home look exactly like the Dalmation's home? I mean, where are you going to get the exact furniture and everything?

    Wal-mart?

Hmm. Actually, this is kind of strange. But I think the saying, "Home is where the heart is" really rings true here. They had strong hearts, so their home could be brought with them to keep them strong.

I do not think that is the answer my good friend. If that were true, I think Leon and the others would have their places look like their home

I think it's just the incorporation of Disney into Kingdom Hearts.

I wouldn't let myself get to deep into the complexity of why[/] the houses look like they do, or following the logic of this thread, how.

Just take it as it is: Just some Disney placed in a specific location to

    Or something like that. :D

The thing is, they escaped through gummy ships, they didn't get there with a Dark Portal.
And even then, it's been there for 10 years, they could've rebuilt it.

    Also, a even better question.
Notice how there is a shop apparently owned by the Mad Hater in the second district? Explain that, remebering the fact his world is still there.

there's a shop owned by the mad hater? I don't remember that. I don't remember too much about the game, except for the things that no one seems to question

    You never know....

Again, just carefully (or not) placed Disney references.

According to the Secret Ansem Reports, "Traverse Town consists of remnants(a small part or portion that remains after the main part no longer exists)of worlds whose hearts have been stolen by the Heartless..."

So I guess that explains why traverse town have exact things from different worlds like the Dalmations house and Merlins tower.

I'm pretty sure you're just supposed to have some suspension of disbelief, it's supposed to build atmosphere and it's really such an insignificant that it doesn't matter. I think you're reading into things a bit much

And you know, that makes for another theory. You know the fountain that features Lady and the tramp as an easter egg? It's possible that their world is gone too.

It also explains why we haven't seen a "real" Traverse Town since Kingdom Hearts 1. It stopped existing because all the worlds were restored.

Furthermore, if we do see it again, it's not likely that it'll even look the same. It's made up of bits and pieces of other worlds, so if the worlds making it up aren't the same as before or don't have their hearts stolen in the same order, it could end up being completely different.

Yeah, but we don't know for sure that the Traverse Town there is the actual/physical TT or just a manifestation of it (Dream-Sora and Riku are training in some dream/memory form of TT?).

But I agree that Merlin could've transported his own home since he is a magician. The Dalmatians' home...either related to the Ansem Report mentioned earlier or just the fact the game is designed with recognizable Disney factors. (I personally believe these factors aren't really important to the story, but I could be wrong.)

I never actually thought about it. But as Kairi's grandmother's story goes, all worlds used to be one. So maybe Square just decided to take certain elements and mash them together in Traverse Town. But I'm probably overlooking into it.

I think it was just done to keep it looking natural. As others have said, good hearts could have also played a role.

As for Merlin, that's easy for him, because he's a magician, and he could have either transported his home to Traverse Town or carried it in his bag on his way to Traverse Town.

    Just my two cents, though.

For the Dalmatians' home maybe it was just re-built and maybe the same thing with Merlin's tower unless like everyone's been saying he magically telaported it there or something xD

Hmm... I suppose the need to feel at home was the major driving force for the Dalmatians. Even though it was similar, it was not exactly the same as the original one in the movie. So my guess is that it was to be "as close to home" as possible since their original home fell to the darkness. (or sleep)

As for Merlin, i actually am quite confused with that fellow. He lived in Radiant garden in BBS, then Traverse town, then back to Radiant Garden in KHII. So i suppose that it was just a place he "got away" to, and he is a magician so anything is possible really when it comes to interior decorating. xD

I heard somewhere that Traverse Town is the World that everyone crosses paths.

This may be the why they all are at it. Or at least pass through there.
