I have a question that I hope someone could answer. In the movie, the part where the autobots are coming to Earth (liked to have put up the video but couldn't find it) each fell someplace different, right? So my question is who was the one that fell in the pool? Me and my brother have been arguing about this and I say it was Optimus because he's the biggest one from all the autobots and the robot that came out of the pool was pretty big compared to the rest that landed. And I also say it was him because it focuses on that robot more than any other robot, and it would make sense because he's the leader, Right? But my brother says it was Ironhide aka the GMC black truck because right after the scene of the robot getting out of the pool, they show where the GMC is being transformed and after that scene they show Optimus transforming into the truck.

I wont mind that if I was wrong but I would really like to hear your opinion on this:)

According to this video and IMDB, it's Ironhide.

So then Optimus was the one who landed in the field?

Its actually a bit of laziness on the animators' part. All of the protoforms are Ironhide's protoform model with some variations. This makes sense from a technical standpoint as the scene in question is very short and only serves to show the Autobots landing on Earth. By doing this, they don't have to make it more difficult to animate than need be (e.g., in Revenge of the Fallen, Devatator actually melted one of Industrial Light and Magic's rendering computers.) This is why Ironhide has the one that focuses the most on the robot, they were trying to hide that Prime, Jazz and Ratchet used the same model.

That said, I have to wonder, if they used a modified version of the same model for all four of them, why didn't they use Prime's? I mean, I know the character design exists for Prime's protoform as he and Starscream in protoform were the first two toys released in the toyline.

It was Ironhide because it wouldn't have cut away from Prime just to show someone else transforming, then go back to Optimus. I guess that the animator just made the models a bit different and remember, Ironhide has pretty huge cannons so part of his bigness comes from his cannons.

Can't go wrong with the facts...

It was Ironhide. And the scene was short but that doesn't mean everything with the Autobos has to be focused on Bumblebee or Optimus...

It was ironhide because ironhide is the jeep (or whatever) and it showed the part where he transformed into the jeep...
