Well, the colors and the effects are horrible, and is hard to see the render for the background that has the same color as the render.

I highly doubt it's as bad as you think it is...
All it really needs is some sharpening and a photo filter (or selective color filter). Do that, and I don't really think it'll be that bad.

 

Meh, it does look quite blank...but it's not bad! (certainly better than something I could whip up...)

Misty, that is so cute. It does look like sharpening it would help, but aside from that I really like it.

 

It doesn't completely "phail", it just needs some better effects, a better background, and better blending. Then it won't be that bad. Basically just don't make your backgrounds so repetitive.

 

There better than mine.. Anyways good job!

 

It's ok, not bad. If your going for that sawdust on your screen look, try blurring some parts.
