I personally think that teachers give too much homework now. I have an eight period day, get home at 2:30, and finish homework at about 9:30-10:00. Does anyone else find it hard to get free time in? I know some of my friends get barely any homework, but I end up spending most of the weekend studying or trying to figure out how to do a systems of equasions without confusing myself.

Yeah, they do. I personally don't get a lot, but my sister... She does homework all day, and finishes around 11:00.

Well...I'm not sure what I was thinking, but I made the stupid choice of taking Latin and French, plus Algebra 1. That could be a reason. And all of our teachers seem insane...my Latin teacher's name is Mrs. Borg, and over her door is "Home of Imperial Lord Darth Borg."

I usually end up doing homework from 4 to 8. It's not fun. I think teachers really need to lay off on the homework big time.

    yeah, definetely. :(
it takes way too long, and they act like we don't have anything else to do.
and there's also a book that proves that it's bad to assign too much homework, because it causes stress, family problems, and problems with friends.

Yeah definitely too much. Maybe if we had less busy work to do we could better on tests.

Oh boy...don't get me started on that. We have to write a seven page research paper, and then we have a science fair. Plus our English teacher gives us an essay a month, and the Latin teacher is making us review for the National Latin Exam. Haha, then finals. *dies*

Haha, lucky you. Most of the 8th grade doesn't do homework either, but the grades really do reflect that for us. Although...one Spanish class was so bad they made the teacher cry...

I always get homework. Weekends and all. I know homework is used to "help", but I think teachers give it out waaaaaay too much.

In my opinion, teachers (in GENERAL) do not give out that much work at all. Maybe I'm facing my own opinion here, but I actually do my work and pay attention in school--so really there is nothing to complain about--if of course people actually cared.

I know people who goof off and think school sucks and homework is a drag, but it's really not--it's actually really easy if you payed attention and LEARNED something, then spent 10 minutes to do a worksheet, or an hour or two to write an essay.

However, some specific teachers do give out way too much homework to an unbearable point, in which it takes way too ****ing long to do the work (I say that in complete literacy).

    ^ Very true ^
But for us, the teachers don't seem to communicate with each other. I pay attention and everything, but each teacher gives us about a 1/2 hour to an hour of work everyday, regardless if we have a quiz or test.
I know some kids just don't care, and it really does show, since they're getting 60s and 70s on their report card, and don't care that it's going to the high school they want to go to. -sigh- Why are people so stupid sometimes?

Agreed. My teachers never really give me any homework right before we have a quiz or test. Why, I don't know.

Of course, there are those kids who don't give a flying crap about how their grades will reflect collage, or how their future will turn up as. It's just the generation, I guess.

Honestly, I think it's all about money. I was watching the news, and a CA school was having a hissy fit just because they lose 36 dollars per student that isn't in school that day. And for a punishment, they get 0's for the whole day of school. I know my school has fits about this, since if you really are "sick" you have to have an excuse for the doctor and a special little slip from the school itself. It seems to be all about the money anymore.

    Yeah, money gets you anywhere.
There's a kid at our school that fails almost every class and is agressive to everyone. For some reason he's been targeting me, and that's resulted in getting pushed into doors, walls, lockers, you name it.
You know what the real slap in the face is?
I'm going to highschool with him. He literally bought his way in. The tuition is $20,000 a year, and he paid a LOT more than that to get in. I don't know how he'll survive without paying attention or doing homework.
But, the quicker he fails out of school, the less chances of his agression.

I didn't really get that much homework in school. Sometimes it seemed like a lot but I just kind of trudged through it to get the satisfaction of turning it in the next day.

But now in college I sort of miss those days. Projects, article summaries, papers. Ugh...but most of it is on-campus work that needs to be done.

Homework and me just don't communicate with each other... it's like there's a wall that blocks my path to my homework. Most of the time, I actually want to do it, but then something 'clicks' in my brain and I instantly do something else (I'm sure most of us are like that). This is probably why I keep getting C's and D's... I'd pay more attention if it were actually something I liked and had fun with. Blah.

Though I have 4 lessons, two give out far too much homework, while the other two I can't do (no matter what. I don't have the software). The English teacher gives us little time to finish off our work (like, every two weeks, she'll change the work). Right now, I'm attempting to finish off an oral presentation (has to be 6 mins long)... I've only done 50 words T-T. Business Enterprise (boring)... lotta homework there >>. The other two aren't really boring or a turn off, because I get to draw in both (by hand and mouse), and that's awesome ^^.

Sometimes I wonder how I managed to pass grade 11 ._.

I get homework in my school,
but I find time to do them during school
so I find lots of free time when I get home.
But thats just me, my other friends aren't able to visit me anymore cause of their homework.
