Just asking, how do you think Tidus should be pronounced?
I'm for Tee-dus, it sounds somewhat nicer to me xD

I'm pretty sure it's pronounced "Tai-dus". Wakka pronounces it "Tee-dus" in KH1, but that's probably due to his accent because Selphie pronounces it "Tai-dus" in KH2. There's a Shakespeare character named Tidus Andronicus. It's pronounced "Tai-dus" as well.

Personally, I usually say "Tee-dus" out of force of habit, but I think it's pronouced "Tai-dus". =/

It's Tee-dus. That's the way they said the name in Dissidia so I think that is the official pronunciation.

Yep, the official pronunciation is indeed Tai-dus.

The actual name 'Tidus' is pronounced Tai-dus. However, in these games, for some reason, characters say Teedus and others say Taidus. I tend to go by the actual pronunciation of the name since I'd heard it long before I ever played KH games. Just seems more right sounding.

I have always pronouced it as it looks, to me: Tai-dus. I can't really imagine why they would call it Tee-dus. The epitomy of random.

I always said "Tee-dus" in my head since I'd never heard it pronounced before... then in KH2 when Selphie said "Tai-dus" I was like dang... but now that I've played Dissidia it shall forever remain Tee-dus =P

We (my brothers and I) called him Tai-dus when FFX arrived. But then we found out it was Tee-dus in KH. Perhaps it's because i'm used to calling him Tai-dus, but i still perfer Tai-dus over Tee-dus. Makes me think of tedious.

I've always pronounced it as Tee-dus. Tai-dus has too long of a vowel sound for me. :'D But hey, tomato tomato. (that works a lot better when you're not typing, but you get my drift)

I've always pronounced it as Tai-dus, because to me that's how his name looks like it's supposed to sound. Like TIDE-us.

We know it's a Japanese game, so that would give reason to call him Teedus, but we know the name has English origins, so we have reason for Taidus.

I'd like to see the Katakana for Tidus' name. It would clear up the trouble.

I couldn't find the katakana but I did find the Romaji which is Tida.

it confused me as to why it's pronounced tee-dus in KH1 and then tai-dus in KH2, and then tee-dus in Final Fantasy: Dissidia. i always thought it was pronounced tee-dus.

I believe it's pronounced Tai-dus. It seems more fitting to the name, and I remember hearing somewhere that it's pronounced Tai-dus.

Ah. Still not good enough. There is no "Tee" (romanised as "Ti") in the Japanese language. It's pronounced "Chi". So that Romaji can't the same as the Katakana.

Well personally i say "Tai-dus" Just because in FFX they never say his name, cause Square let you pick your own name, which was a bad move for the first voiced Final Fantasy...but anyways i figured that it was actually pronounced Tee-dus after KH1 from what Wakka called him and on top of that in Final Fantasy Dissidia they call him Tee-dus, but i still think Tai-dus sounds more epic. ^_^

Tee-dus comes more easy to say. I use both but mainly Tee-dus

    It's Titus.
And in Greek we pronounce it Teetus.

I always prefered Tai-dus, to be honest, and I think that one of the plus points of FFX and FFX2 was that they never actually spoke his name aloud (which makes sense since in FFX you could choose a different name for him so having his name spoken in cutscenes would have been inconvenient) so the gamer could choose whatever pronounciation they were happy with, only when they made the decision to actually name him in KH they now have a fanbase that is split between how it should be said, which was further confused when they pronounced it differently in the second game.

Tee-dus just makes me think, as Kitty said, of Tedious, that and it doesn't flow as nicely for me as Tai-dus does.
