Slated to release Nov. 8, 2013.

We've known about this for a long time, but the UK recently got its trailer.

Looks good, wish they hadn't put that scene with Loki in the trailer though.

    Really? I didn't.
I thought it was strange that I didn't considering they had a poster for it in the theater.

Is it bad that I didn't see the first one and only want to see this one because of their performance in Avengers

nvm that is terrible I don't need confirmation

Think you meant to say 2013, brohann

I'm looking forward to seeing the lore of the MCU expanded a little more in this movie, and possibly some hints will be dropped for GotG because of the whole space and other worlds themes contained in Thor's stories.

But why wouldn't you want to see Loki?

Because now we know he's in it so there's no suspense left.

...Of course it's also the only way get people to watch it, so.

    Totally in agreement there.

I'm pretty sure people would see it regardless.

I mean, people are into Chris Hemsworth. But are they into him the way they're into Tom Hiddleston?

I suppose it was a strategy to reel the fan girls in yeah, but I never really thought it was a question of wether or not he'd appear. I mean the ending of Avengers put him back in Asgard and how could they not continue that part of the story, right?

Good point. I guess I just want to believe that movies can be contained and respect the closure of each other's endings, and the companies behind them won't start freebasing an actor once they've found success in a single film.

...Wow, that was really bitter of me. Especially since I like Hiddleston.

Well this is the Marvel Cinematic Universe after all, and it's called as such for a reason. Plus anyways Loki is still a big part of the Thor story so it's not as if he's only there because he was in the Avengers.
    Am I making sense...? HAHA

I know, but... the more stories they tell about Loki, the more they start to run out of material. Not even full-on plot material, but material for those little interactions between actors that make their characters so lovable. I like Hiddleston's work. I don't want to start disliking it. You know?

At any rate, this is all pre-emptive. I'm sure they haven't run out of material yet; I just really don't want to find that they've shoehorned Loki into a movie where he could've easily been absent. It should mean something that he's here, and that means more than "Well, he was around, so why not?"

About MCU? Yeah sort of, I suppose.

I do see your point there, but I'm not particularly worried it'll come to that. Loki has enough stories behind him, and there's a lot from the comics they can pick from and utilize to keep him going as a character of importance.
And I have faith in Marvel Studios, they haven't let me down yet!

I remember reading an article about Thor 2 around the time Avengers was released in theaters.
At that point they couldn' t reveal much more than a very concise outline, which was precisely the outline this trailer is drawing : this movie is Loki' s shot at redemption (or is it ?)

    Ant man always said that Loki was the last avenger they were missing;
But yeah... they could have saved that moment for theaters...
DOn't know what expect the last Thor movie was the worst from the marvel universe movies... I hope it gets better.

I saw it earlier this afternoon.

There were things about it that I liked, specifically the relationship between Thor and Loki, and Malekith, but I'm not sure about my feelings overall about the movie. Thor isn't my thing, but the things I liked were enough to make me really like it.

I never cared much about the realtionship between the two before, but this movie did a fantastic job with that.
About Malekith, I hate when villains have a "destroy everything and revert the universe back to nothing" motive because it doesn't make any sense, but Malekith was so awesome in this movie. One of my favorite Villains on screen.
I never understood why Loki had such a massive following before now, but this movie absolutely won me over on him. His humor in this movie is the best yet, and the reference (if you saw the movie you know what I'm talking about) may have been my favorite moment in the entire film.

The ending with Loki was amazing. I absolutely cannot wait to see where that goes. I suspected that's what would happen, and I'm excited to see how that plays out.

Oh, and I hate Kat Dennings.

Saw this I think last weekend. Actually surprised how much I liked this film, but I do agree that Malekith was kinda weak with his reasoning. Though, he still was played well, along with the rest of the big players.

Also, even though Loki did get a big part, the film helped me become a fan of Thor. He's a LOT more likable than in his first film, and shows a lot of emotion in this story that was clear.

Saw the film a couple of weekends ago, absolutely loved it. Personally I enjoyed the first movie more (preferred the plot) but the action scenes in this movie blew me away. The ending really got me interested in
what the trilogy is going to contain in the third movie
