    SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's about KH3... Or more to the point, It's something that might be revealed in Kh3. So to begin the theory, we must first think of part of the story of Re:Coded as "Relevant". I know for some of you this will be INSANELY difficult, but let's imagine for a moment...
In Re:Coded, Maleficent destroyed data Sora's keyblade, HOWEVER he gained an ACTUAL keyblade (The first was made of Data) later because through his interactions with others, he had become a living being with his own heart. (Which ties into my "Seven lights being soras" theory) Data Sora gained an 8-bit themed Keyblade around the time of these events. (Don't remember exactly when. In Kingdom Hearts (The original) The keyblade returned to Sora when his heart was stronger than riku's. Last of all In 3D, the reality shift for the final world forms individual Keyblades for them both, then combines them into a one. So here is my theory: What if Sora's Keyblade is RIKU'S? Like Data Sora gained a real heart so he got a real Keyblade. What if Sora's "My friends are my power" speech Caused the keyblade to come to him? Remember what Aqua said? "One keyblade is enough for any friendship." What if it's riku's, or what if It's entirley other peoples hearts? I put this in Kh3 because the way sora's story is going it will likely be readdressed in KH3 why exactly sora has a keyblade, and I thought this was a possibility. Your thoughts?

Edit: I am Editing this post onto the first so it cannot go on being ignored.

... I'm not sure I get what you guys are trying to say... I mean, I get that you are right, it's a observation, not a theory I guess... But why are we going over the same points? I know that Sora had a keyblade that was SUPPOSED to be Riku's, What I'm asking is what if it's possible his Keyblade is actually STILL Riku's. See, that's why I went over the DDD Reality shift. I'm wondering if the keyblade is the same thing, split into different ones... This would explain why all but two of Sora and Riku's keyblades in DDD are the same. Most of the unlockables also seem to be themed on both of them at the same time... Divewing for example. Anyway, I guess I should just give up on this analyzing stuff... I seem great at it until I start my own thread... (In other people's opinions)

This isn't a theory, it's an observation. It's made very clear in Kingdom Hearts that Sora's Keyblade originally meant to choose Riku and went to Sora because Riku's heart became weaker when he embraced the darkness. It went back to Riku in Hollow Bastion because Maleficent had helped him become stronger. Sora's speech later on got it to go back to him.

Like Genocider said, also there is all that about the "Keyblade inheritance ceremony"
"In your hand, take this Key. So long as you have the makings, then through this simple act of taking, its wielder you shall one day be. And you will find me, friend—no ocean will contain you then. No more borders around, or below, or above, so long as you champion the ones you love."

All Sora's versions, and people conected to Sora had the Keyblade lost, or fake, and then recovered thus becoming a "true Keyblade wielder" Simply because they could use a Keyblade because of their conection with sora, and after their hearts became strong enough so they can be true wielders.
Sora did it, Data Sora did it, Both Roxas and Xion.

Just like the other two said. The keyblade was originally supposed to be Riku's. after Sora's heart proved stronger, the keyblade moved "down the list" and chose Sora. Young Xehanort brought this up in Dream Drop Distance as well as Xigbar (more people probably did too). Riku's current keyblade is the one that chose him after his heart had regained strength at the end of Kingdom Hearts 2. So Sora wasn't supposed to even have one.

Sora's Keyblade was originally meant to be Riku's, but it ended up being Sora's when Riku used the power of darkness to open Destiny Islands' Keyhole. And Like what the people above me said. You have to remember that Kairi had the potential to wield a Keyblade when she touched Aqua's Keyblade, and she didn't even notice it. But getting back to the point. Sora's Keyblade is now his. And Sora's friendship with other people made them strong enough to have the potential to wield a Keyblade.

A good theory though: At KH I, If Sora really had put his heart into it, he could be able to wield 3 keyblades as he had Ven's and Kairi's Heart and his own.. he would be a master indeed.

The way I see it, the Keyblade was supposed to go to Riku, belonged to Riku, and was, for all intents and purposes, Riku's, until it went back to Sora in Hallow Bastion in KH1.

At that point, Riku didn't deserve one because for some reason, the Keyblade was being picky in terms of how much darkness a person has (unlike Xehanort's and Terra's keyblades), and thus, lost the right to wield it. The Kingdom Key had officially became Sora's (In DDD I assume that when it says "I know it didn't choose me", he's referring to when the Keyblade "wanted" to be Riku's).

It wasn't until Riku had obtained some sort of balance between his light and darkness that another Keyblade manifested itself to Riku, one unique to him and different from Sora's.

Well Sora's Keyblade only became his after Riku went evil in Hollow Bastion. Had Riku found balance, he would have gained it back and Sora would have either not had one or gotten a new one, likely because of the light he had.

All in all, the Keyblade was still for all intents and purposes Riku's, but I ditched that plan and went to Sora because Riku went darkZ

While I think "a Keyblade" was suposed to be Riku's, the form in which it appeared is very much linked to Ventus' "X-blade" (that was forged when he fought Vanitas). So that being said I don't know if Riku got a Keyblade it would be "Kingdom Key", remember that before a Keyblade is formed you need a medium to it take shape, in Riku's case he formed Way to dawn based by Soul Eater. Sora who didn't had a Keyblade probably taked "Ventus' Keyblade" until at the end of KH I it became his.

Or that, or Kingdom key is the "Destiny Island World's Keyblade" Which is possible also, and then any keyblade wielder who first emerged there would get it, even in this case I still think it has a conection with Ventus/Vanitas, maybe the Light side of the Kingdom key got to Destiny Islands, and it's dark counter part got to the dark version of destiny island (Dark shore ?) .
