as if Christmas music wasn't bad enough, listening to it before December is one of the many things I can't stand about the holiday season.

My mother listens to the instrumental Christmas music occasionally before December on nights she can't sleep. I've kind of gotten used to it.

But I still think it's a crime to celebrate Christmas before Halloween. So might as well let the jolly good spirit commence.

Welcome to America, where we get ready for holidays 3-4 months in advance (maybe even longer in some places)

i hate it so much. it's awfully terrible. especially at the store i work at. we had a christmas section ready in the last week of august.

we didn't have anything for halloween or fall until mid-september. and we still don't have anything for thanksgiving.

but they're spreading the christmas out into other parts of the store. **** my life.

There's a reason stores do the Christmas thing so early. They want to squeeze every last cent from you because they have a certain ...number they have to meet in order to make a profit. That's what Black Friday means. "In the Black" means that they're in the profit margin as opposed to "In the Red" which is a deficit. Stores have to buy product in order to sell it. And with the economic state the US is in...and with many stores hiring extra seasonal help to supply wages for, it's not as easy as it sounds.

They've got a point though, Christmas music is the worst part about christmas.
