Yes good sir, I do happen to like stuff that is not anime, I was just looking at yugioh memes, this showed up, and I thought it looked cool. I like the anime style is all, doesn't mean it's all I like

In his defense there's nothing wrong with not liking a visual medium based on how it looks.
Presentation is a large part of an animated cartoon and ugly character designs or aesthetically unpleasing **** can be turn offs to certain people.

 

how can you not like it? lol it's a very cute cartoon... it's /supposed/ to be stupid you know?

and even though it has its stupid parts, it can be serious as well. you can't just ignore those parts that mean a lot, can you?

besides the art is amazing anyway... overall it's just a fun concept and you should give it a try...

Sure, though that has nothing to do with the actual quality of something. If it is done to the best of the creators ability and not just sloppy work, style has nothing to do with how good something is

Adventure time deserves the praise it gets for its creativity. Humor is subjective so if it's not your thing it's not your thing, but saying that if the show was anime it would be worth his time is close-minded and silly thinking.

After all, you're watching something with your eyes 99% of the time. If something looks ugly and and unappealing to the eye then there's nothing wrong with going

Of course this is subjective from person to person, it's still a perfectly valid criticism. Animation is first and foremost a visual medium and thus a lot of weight should be put on the visual aspect of it.
For example

I cannot STAND watching this show when it was on.
Why?
Because it's NEON ****ING EVERYTHING COLOUR PALETTE as seen above was BLINDING I honestly believe you could have a seizure looking at this still image

You're right. The other day I bought something simply because it looked cool, and didn't buy something simply because it looked like vomit. it wasn't vomit Still, I don't think the "if this was anime I would give it a chance" way of thinking is valid at all, and I still hold that visuals don't effect how good something is - but rather how well individual people receive it (as you said). I've found that in some cases stomaching the visuals of something long enough to give everything else a chance can eventually lead to not minding or even liking the visuals.

Holy crap, that is really hurting my eyes. It makes me feel like someone made a show out of magazine cutouts and put them all together. And yes, that's the best I can put it as.

I never said "if this was anime I would give it a chance". You're assuming. I said if it looked nice and the plot wasn't as stupid, I would be willing to give it a chance. I have actually seen bits of the show, and every time I do see someone watching it I have to block out the sound because just hearing the show drives me insane. I find it incredibly annoying and not funny at all. Same as how I don't find Family Guy, Simpsons, South Park, or Futurama funny
