Help This has been bothering me

I was reading a thread where there was completely polite language, sure there was some hassel but you know, the usual stuff. Then one of the Moderators (whose initial is M) come in and swore and there was no sensor.

The word (f***ing to be presice) was just there and free to see. Why is it that the, supposidly more sensible and prudent, moderators should be able to swear. There is no need for swearing and I do not see the point of having a filter if those of higher rank should be able to bypass it. It does not show a good example, especially to some of our younger members and that is the point of the filter. Either make it equal for all or get rid of it in my opinion.

Anyone, not just staff members, can bypass the filter.

It's a major loophole in the system and there's no way to fix it. Well, there *is* a way to fix it, but it would severely mess up the way all of us are able to post things.

Big hint: to fix it, we would have to get rid of the ability to bold, italicize, underline, change font types, size, and any other text-based manipulation.

 

There are many ways to bypass the filter. I doubt the mods have time to realy pay attention to it when there are other things to handle. But, I would like a link to this thread you speak of, for the luz xD

 

there was no bold or anything in the word tho it was just as normal as the words that I am typing now.

Just because you can't notice a difference, doesn't mean anything hasn't been changed. In actuality, the point is to make it LOOK like nothing changed, since that would make members believe someone was truly able to swear uncensored, which you, my friend, unfortunately were a victim of just now.

I'm proving a point. He's attacking the idea that Mods have special privileges (i.e. being able to swear) and abusing them, when in reality this is doable by anyone.

I don't care if anyone finds out how this is done, because:

a) Anyone who excessively abuses this bypass is surely going to just take it in the *** one day
b) There's no feasible way to solve this without doing what I mentioned earlier, and taking those means to do so just isn't realistic.

 

The staff been discussing this. If members continually bypass the filter they'll receive a warning for it.

I don't see why members feel the need to swear on a childs forum. I know a lot of you swear, but not everyone does. Go swear somewhere else.

 

In regards to editing my post:

You do realize I only put that there because I was proving that no one has the ability to truly override the censor.

I was merely proving the point that you moderators do not have special privileges in this manner and aren't abusing it in this way.

If you want to keep the filtering bypass a secret, by all means, but keep in mind that this member is a prime example that you, the staff, are being perceived as individuals who abuse their powers (even when such powers don't exist).

Well Soushirei already posted a way to bypass it ( Sorry Soush but I had to edit it out =/) and unfortunately there are other ways to bypass the censors without having it show. Like the one Lithy uses >>
Staff isn't a reasons to be able to swear and we're working on a way to fix this problem atm.
