how do you think the organization got their unique abilities?

 

Nobody Theory

They automatically get them when they become the higher-ranking Nobodies. As long as a Nobody is created with a human form as close in appearance to the original as possible, they gain new abilities that they may not have previously had before based on the individual in question.

It probably has something to do with whats important to them.

 

It's all based on their personality. Lexaeus is big and bulky like the earth. Saix has an eerie personality like the moon. Demyx is wishy-washy. Larxene is aggressive and playful like lightning. And so on...

While the fact that they are born with it when they turn into a Nobody is a accurate posibility, that's just it. A possible explanation. Even though I do agree with it.

In truth, nothing's that's going to be said here is pure fact (so don't really take it or write it as one, for all we know, it could be a completely different thing) unless Nomura gets his arse off, and explain some things that have yet to be known about the creatures known as Nobodies, and the Org.

If you notice, personality match their abilties and weapons, as well as their appearance because is...character designing. I doubt anyone in real life would take after their elements and utensils so much as the Org. has. Axel resembles a lot of fire, his red fire like hair and is spiky wild, his tattoos, his fox like features. Larxene has bangs that look like antennae (get it? xD) and she has yellow hair and blue eyes (which are kind of the colors lightning is attributed with), Saïx has royal blue hair, with gold eyes, and a scar on his face, that reminds me of a moon and werewolf made character, not to mention when he goes Berserk.

Since is a game though, we can ignore it xP.

 

Maybe you missed the memo... but all of thier real selves are heartless.

The only reason Sora existed at the same time as Roxas, is becuase Sora became a heartless, then returned.

Actually, their original selves aren't Heartless, really. Heartless are merely the ones who host the heart, the body and soul are the Nobody. There just the remains of their original selves separated, not that they are. While Roxas and Naminé are a special case, for the rest to be "whole" or return to their "real self", this has to happen, from Nomura himself:

Whether some will return or make appearance, is yet to be known. However, we can be sure that Xehanort will be back (his Heartless was killed in KH1, and his Nobody was killed in KH2, put two and two together, epsecially since he's the main villain of the series), and Axel. Yes, everyone cheer -_-. Is been stated in the KH2 written novels by Naminé that Axel returned to his original self.

Those two are the only ones that have a chance, and maybe (big maybe, by the way) the original six, though I think they will appear more in flashbacks, if you ask me.

Goodness, I would die to see Larxene in her original self :3, as doubtful as it is.

 

Maybe you missed the entire history of Nobodies.

I won't quote Yen Sid in his thorough explanation of KH2, but when a person with a strong heart has their heart removed, their body remains: that is a Nobody.

Xehanort is one of these individuals. His Heartless was the main antagonist in KH1, and his Nobody was the main antagonist in KH2. This does not mean Xemnas' real self was Xehanort's Heartless; this is silly and rubbish.

Xehanort's Heartless and Xemnas were both a part of Xehanort. Consequently, Xemnas' (Nobody) real self is Xehanort, not Xehanort's Heartless.

Moving onto the topic.

As for what determines what they can do, I can only imagine this has something to do with who their real selves were. Xigbar hints to Sora near the end of KH2 that he knew about the Chasers, Terra, Aqua and Ven. This is further suggested in the bonus scenes in Final Mix+. It's already proven officially that the first six members (I think it was 6) were Ansem's apprentices. Not much is known about what kind of people they were, but I wouldn't pass the idea that perhaps these Organization XIII's original selves possessed weapons similar to what their Nobodies were using.

 

I know that... but still. When Sora came back from being as shadow in KH1, did they say that the heartless released his heart? No, they said that he turned into a heartless, and then came back. Thats what I meant.

 

The heartless is the Heart, as ironic as that is. After the heart is removed from the body after giving in to the darkness, it transforms into a Heartless. That's why whenever you killed a heartless, a 'heart' would fly out of them. The Keyblade in a sense, cleanses the Hearts back into their original forms.

 

It is possible that they already had these abliities before they becamse nobodies.

I think that that is determined by what sort of person you were as a full person.

E.G. I see Zexion as being a two faced person, someone who likes to play people off against each other. Therefor Illusion is perfect for him.

Good point... Its not like Roxas is stronger than Sora. If anything, they are equal.

Also, I dont believe Xemnas is stronger than his heartless, and Xehanort is probably stronger.

 

yeah. but remember in kh1final mix, xemnas was 10 times hader than xehanort

 

Well, Terra is like U83R1337 in FM+ but I bet that if you fought him as a Final Boss he would be just the same a Xemnas in Streanth.
