The Subconscious is Amazing!

Okay-When I was a baby bands like Nirvana and Guns'n'Roses where always played around me-I'm 13 and I haven't heard the album Nevermind by Nirvana in 10 years and I was amazed when I found I could almost recite the whole album! I was like "Dude! I know this song-even though im pretty sure i've never heard it before!!"

So Basically I think its down to the Subconscious and how it sorta 'Bookmarks' things like music and it can silently live on for like 10 years and stuff-So did you ever come across something like this?? And If you did please tell ^^

 

Stuff has happened like that to me before.
When I was little, my dad watched Battlestar Galatical before he left us. One of the characters sang a song in it just before he died and I discovered that song only about a month ago. I reconisged it so badly too!

But I seem to be getting deja vu even though I've never seen it before or stuff like that.

 

This would come under the subconscious part of the mind and specifically long term memory. It's said to hold an infinite amount of memory so it's likely most any stimulus, meaning listening to the album again, would bring those buried memories to you thoughts.
Some things i thought I completely forgot appear in mind when someone tells me stories of when I was younger, it is amazing.

 

Yeah, the mind is like a sponge. I love it when things like this happen to me :p

If I watch a program that I used to watch when I was younger (can't actually think of an example right now) then I could sing along to all the songs and probably mouth all the words.

I watch the film Lion king all the time and I could sit there and mouth along with them =D I do love the subconscious mind

 

This happens to me quite a lot, depending on how memorable the song was :'D It also happens when I can recall really old commercials from tv, the stimulus usually being the catchy song associated with it. My dad says he can recall songs and adverts from when he was a kid.
