The Official Minecraft Thread

All right, so I thought I'd save all of ya'll the trouble of making new threads when you want to talk about Minecraft.
I know there are a ton of you guys out there who play and you want to talk about it, so post here instead of clogging up the board with multiple threads, huh?
Think of it as the Minecraft Spot.
So, anyone else excited for 1.3?

 

So some of you may have seen Kelly's post asking for people who would play minecraft on a non-home network server (A legit server. Not Hamachi) and so I'm just looking for people who would play regularly before I make a purchase.

I might be but it will take a while before I can get back into Minecraft, the only pc i have access to is my grandparents, and they are on vacation.

Just started playing it today and I'm already ridiculously hooked :p
Though I have no idea how to work the multiplayer, online PC gaming is something I've never done before.

 

Multiplayer works by inputing a server IP (some servers require Hamachi, a sucky server hoster) into the "IP section of create a server" and then your pc uses the internets to connect you to the hosting computer, allowing you to play.

 

Mm minecraft.

I love minecraft! Has anyone else found slimes?

 

Yay Minecraft!

I've found slimes many times, but I have a hard time finding diamonds. No problem finding lava, though. Grrrrrr. XD

 

I found my first six diamonds this morning ^_^ I was ever so pleased.
And I have a love-hate relationship with lava. It usually tells you that there are rare ores nearby, but then it also likes to kill you when you get giddy after finding said ores D:

I've never found one of these slimes though, but considering I only got the game yesterday it doesn't surprise me, plus I tend to play on Peaceful Mode quite a bit. Where do they spawn?

 

bad monster mobs spawn in darkness, but the dont need to stay in darkness, well some of them do, untill you get armor i suggest you stay on peaceful,
by the way, if anyone wants a custom skin, i can make one in one day easy.

I remember when I found my first diamond, there was lava nearby, and I was SQUEEEEing so hard I fell in the lava. Fail. :D

All the slimes I've seen spawn in caves. They usually make a sound close to lava, except it's sort of a "plop~ plop~" instead of "gloop~ gloop~"
I dunno how to describe the sounds ; U ; lol

I have plenty of resources to make armour, but I never really bother making it because I don't end up needing it.

And the first time I took the difficulty off of Peaceful, I went mining but forgot to put some sort of door in front of my house, and when I came back a creeper exploded and destroyed half of it >.> Plus when I ran into my first zombie I had a freaking heart attack. So I'm probably not going to get to see one until I get more used to the game.

Now the easiest way I can remember that is via the annotations on the video T___T

The first time I fell in lava was when I went after some Gold, even though it is useless. I broke the one rule of Minecraft and dug straight down, and then fried to death and lost all the Redstone I had found >.>

 

Just posting to say something simple. I love the sound effects, especially when you walk on Snow. No idea why I adore it so much.
