    The heart leaves the body and goes to the realm of darkness to create a heartless which reappears in the realm of light.
    If that heart was strong willed the soul stays behind and gives life to the "heartless" (no pun intended) body and that body is reborn in the Realm of In Between as a Nobody.
    Heartless live by instinct to find hearts and the keyblade
    Nobodies can plan but want hearts to become whole.

    Yeah,and the keyblade unlocks those hearts from the heartless,whcih go to Kingdom Hearts to I guess when enough are gathered.They get a wish.But if Kingdom Hearts is light,why would it grant the organization's wish?Unless it was never gonna do so.

    Kingdom Hearts doesn't grant wishes.
    I think it gives power, which is why it it wanted so bad.
    Anyways a nobody is basically made when a person is turned into a heartless.

    Yup, it's just the poor body left behind. Then if it was a strong heart, it maintains a human form with a working brain. And there, we have teh awesome Org: XIII. ba bada baaaa~

    Kingdom Hearts gives untold wisdom. Hence with that wisdom they gain power and with power they can either do good or evil yada yada yada...

    Maleficent wanted Kingdom Hearts to learn the secret as how to completely control the darkness and not be consumed by it and rule the worlds.

    Xehanort's Heartless wanted it because he just wanted to gain the power of ultimate darkness and rule the worlds like Maleficent.

    Xemnas wanted Kingdom Hearts to learn how to make him and his Nobody followers complete beings, hearts and all and THEN take over the universe like his Heartless counterpart.

    And no one knows yet why Master Xehanort wants Kingdom Hearts. (probably to rule the worlds like everyone else -_-...)
