Not real sure if this kind of thread has been made already, so if it has, go ahead and delete this thread. :) Anyways, Microsoft has a special treat in stock for all 360 owners; they call it the New Xbox Experience. On November 19th, 2008, all 360 consoles will have a system update being done on it, so while it downloads, it'd be inaccessible. Don't worry, after it's done, you'll be very surprised... Now, the New Xbox Experience (NXE) is going to be a giant update, much like a major firmware update for PS3 and such, with a whole new dashboard look and new features. The features that will be included in this update are user avatars (sadly, it's sort of a rip from the Wii's Miis), a feature to where you're able to connect your Netflix account with your Xbox and watch the movies you have on your list right on your system. Another feature is the ability to save your game (not the traditional saving method, the actual game itself) for quicker game launching. Though, with this, you must own the actual disc for verification, which is kind of good and bad. Yet another feature with the NXE is dashboard parties. Instead of having your friends go out and buy the same game to be in your party, you can join each other in a dashboard party. What's cool about this is while you're in a party, the party leader can take their party and join a game on the Xbox, watch a movie together, or just hang out. This is going to be pretty sweet. Here's a picture for you guys: http://www.xboxer.tv/new-xbox-experience-e3_keynote_community.jpg All Xbox 360 owners, be ready. It'll blow your minds. :P
Another total rip off idea from Microsoft, I'm not amused (lets see how much I get de-repped, since this is my opinion)
They had a few things at Kotaku about the difference that installing makes. Overall it doesnt really do much. Although it did have a noticeable effect on the Orange Box.
The 360's flexibility never ceases to amaze me. - >The::Fee|ing, proud 360 owner. Its pretty much the best system right now.
Wow, I love ******s...... This is nothing like home for ps3, and avatars have been around since Jesus was in pre-k. Can't wait.
I can't say whether it's gonna be awesome or a rip-off yet, I'll guess we'll just have to wait and see. XP to Vista was a decent change.
I think Microsoft has come up with some pretty amazing ideas. (Achievements, XBox live, etc...) They have really established themselves as a great gaming company. (The new XBox experience does not impress me.)
I'm not saying they suck, i'm saying their unoriginal in the ideas and I have seen proof with my very eyes in college
I couldn't really care less about this who ripped who argument with NXE. I just want the party chat. I find it ridiculous that from the get-go you couldn't have private conferences with more than one person at a time. At least now I can private chat with all my friends at once while playing COD and not have to listen to the prepubescent garbage that flood the game channel.
It came out and like I said... it's NOTHING like home. NOTHING. NOT CLOSE. Also, the avatars look a million times better than wii's. And to the member that -rep'd me..... explain how I am the ******. ON A SIDE NOTE: Trophy's ripped off of achievments. SONY R UNORIGINL OMG.
It's actually a simplified Home. Home requires walking around to do everything I can do in the NXE by the push of a button.
The virtual world feel is appealing to some, however. You also don't get your own apartment to design with the NXE. >:| Clearly XBL is lacking in this regard.
Virtual hardwood floors. I'm actually in the Beta for Home right now. But I didn't get past the character screen. I was far too preoccupied with trying to get the guy look exactly like me, since I know it's completely possible with the amount of customization they give you. But I simply gave up. I need a professional.
With Home you get the option of walking around or sticking to an XMB. As for NXE. I got my 360 back from my friend so I will be download it tonight.
