The Last Airbender Movie: More News on Casting

[This was announced around Feb. 3 but just discovered it now.]

Dev Patel, of Slum Dog, is said to be replacing Jesse McCartney as Prince Zuko in the movie. Reasons are claimed to be from scheduling conflicts.

So, at least we have an actual authentic Asian person to play a role. We'll see how this turns out now...

Also, according to the article below, a person named Jessica Andres will be playing as Suki. Hmm...

sweetness.i thought they had given up on making this movie.glad to hear there still working on it.and i thinks its good that jesse wont be playing zuko.i knew he wouldn't be able to pull it off zuko as well as in the anime.

 

The more I think about it, it's infinitely rad with knobs.

Yeah, Jesse as Zuko just didn't seem right to me.
I always thought Dante Basco (the voice of Zuko in the tv series) looks a lot like Zuko. He wouldn't make a bad live-action Zuko.

 

Wow... I never knew about this movie. This has got to be the one anime (if you want to call it that - I do because of the japanese letters everywhere) that I actually LIKE. I will be interested in seeing if this movie can live up to the show. I was kinds hoping it would be animated, though. It might look better that way.

 

It's going to be a trilogy, each movie based of off the three seasons they aired of the show. For instance, the first movie they are going to be releasing in 2010 will be entirely from Book 1: Water.

 

awesome. but the last person i would have thought to play zuko is jesse mccartney.
