I just saw the Golden Compass, which I thought was pretty good. It isn't too suspensful except for a few parts but the battle at the end between the bears is sweet. Especially when the good one smacks off the lower jaw of the King Bear's. The only sad part was the fact that I missed the ending. I saw when the girl was talking to the boy but then when it was the airship I missed the last few sentences. I was checking the time on my phone and missed the ending....Don't tell me the ending by posting but insteas PM me because some peoplee that read this thread will not want the ending revealed.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but it's nice to hear it was good. I read the book a couple years back and its one of my favorites, so I would hate to see it if it's sucky.

I haven't had time to see it since it's getting toward the end of the semester and I lack transportation to get anywhere.

But it looks good from what I have seen so far.

It was good towards the end of the movie. The beginning was a bit slow for me *probably just me and how I am about movies*. But it really started to pick up in the middle and had a nice climatic ending with the whole final fight scene for the movie. Overall I enjoyed it and I recommend that others should see it as well.

Yeah, it's a bit suspensful when she sneaks into the ladies secret room and finds the G.O.B. papers. It's also suspensful in the house in the North where they find the boy without his daemon. Yeah, the ending battle is pretty good, and not just because I like wolves and the evil army's daemons were all wolves.

I've been meaning to go see this since I loved the books, but wasn't sure how well it would work. Now that everyone says it's great I'm looking forward to it a lot more. :3

I just saw the movie myself today with my oldest sister. I really liked it, since it's my type of genre and it is different from what I've seen so far. The daemons were pretty awesome, it was pretty fun to see which one each person had - extra much for the kiddies. The transport vehicles were rather.... interesting.. XD In a good way. The "answers" of the compass were very lovely. And the bad guys were pretty brutal against the children I will admit, yet it's a good element for the story. And just the fact that the main goal was to travel to Svalbard made me pay extra attention... :> (the locals didn't speak Norwegian after what I heard - maybe the lapp language?)

I'll definatly read the 3 books one day...

My sister laughed so loudly when that happened...

I haven't seen it but I think from what the previews say that the movie is going to have a lame plot. =/ I don't know. I'm not into Kids>Fantasy>Adventure
I'm fine with Adventure but not the kids one.

The movie itself was very well done. It had some pretty nice visuals and definitely did the book justice.

Yeah the graphics were really well done. I thought the ending battle looked like it could be real (that is if people could fly and have daemons made of dust running beside them)

This movie recieved many religous accusations to the fact that the animals where called daemons and that a human's soul was inside that animal instead of thereselves.

I didn't like it, I prefer the book.

It was funny how every character started to tell out their secrets when Lyra came.
And I also loved how they said the Serafina Pekkalas name, since I'm a from Finland and the Pekkala is finnish name.

Didn't Lyra only have some little clothing on the north? She had the jacket, but what was under it..

The whole plot was messed up and the movie ended too quickly.

    I was disappointed. ) :
