Okay so personally, I think this whole 2012 is the end thing is a bunch of BS. Now I am Atheist so don't blame me if I interpret this wrong. But I heard that in the Bible, it states that when a tall dark man from the Middle East that wears blue, (Barack Obama) Will get to the highest point of power in the world, (The President of the US) he'll bring peace to the world, (Which he is doing) and when he is at the peak of his power, the world will end. It also says that during this, the Russians will head back to Israel or something like that.(Which they're doing) Another thing: 2012 is the end of the Mayan calender. Anyway, while I do think it's a strange coincidence, I don't believe it. Again, don't cuss me out if I misenterpret(Is that how you spell it?) something, as I got this information from another source.

I totally agree with you. There are so many "thoeries" out there about the world ending in 2012, that it is getting really quite annoying.

these threads are pointless and foolish because all your doing is stating an opinion on something from another thread as if repling to it and repling to a thread with another thread can get you an infraction.

They also said computers would crash and the internet would die in 2000, didn't they? Something to that effect...if I'm wrong, don't kill me!
I totally think this is BS, and it also happens to be after the year I graduate.

all of this is up to interpretation and opinion... just like any case where the bible is used as evidence to support a theory, the interpretation of the information is all that matters. sure, we can all freak out and say the world will end, but right now it should be a priority to focus on the NOW, dont you think? dwelling on "2012!!!" all the time really isnt the best idea because it just causes doubt and speculation not needed.

really, BS is the best way to sum up those theories. :D

that's another interesting theory... although i really doubt that chirst will come to the earth again in just a few years... we are not ready and neither is god, quite frankly. we still have toooooo many things to do to prepare for something like that. :D

And how would the ancient MAYANS, who lived hundreds of years BC, know this? No, all the theories about the end of the world are pretty much crap that can never happen within the laws of physics.

No, I do not believe you, and I will not live my life believing in something that is clearly beyond the walls of provable reality. If you want to, go ahead.

I don't fully believe it will end in 2012, but I have a feeling something really screwed up will happen if it doesn't end at that time. And the Mayans aren't the only ones who had the same thought, if my History teacher is correct, the Chinese believed it would end in 2012 too (some of them anyway), not to mention some of the Native Americans. The Bible didn't state it would end in 2012, so it could be another completely different time/person. Like I said before, I don't believe the world will end in 2012 (though part of me is thinking it will), but I do think something terrible will happen...but if you are interested in it, look up the Aztecs.

Wait a second...did you just say Obama was from the Middle East?
Ok...last I checked, Hawaii wasn't part of the Middle East, and neither is Africa, if that's what you're implying.

I'm pretty sure that none of what you said is in the Bible. Seems way too specific.

Anyway, once the current Mayan calendar ends, the Mayans just make a new one. That's how it works.

    Umm...

    1) Obama isn't all that dark nor that tall.
    2) What's with this blue? Never heard of this.
    3) U.S. does not equal Earth. He's NOT the most powerful man on Earth.
    4) So far, he has not brought peace to the world (as long as we humans are as we are, this will never happen)
    5) Russia has absolutely NO relations to Israel (in the Biblical ages, anyway).
    6) The Mayans are dead and thought the white men (the Europeans) were gods. Not really a source I'd cite.

According to the Bible, the Beast (we have given him the name, Antichrist, yet it never appears in Revelations) is suppossed to rise from the sea and have seven heads and ten horns. Doesn't sound like Obama to me.

"Rise from the sea" probably means "foreigner", since they didn't know the world was round, and a mast would appear first over the horizon, making it appear to 'rise'. The 7 and 10 were symbolic. Ive heard that they refer to countries, leaders, etc etc. And the bible states (although even THAT is not a source I'd cite) that Israel will be attacked from the North (And I think all the other directions, as well), meaning Russia as the only nation with a military ready to take Israel on (cause Israel's military is the best trained in the Old World).

Not that I believe in any of this, but I do have some insight into it.

Many Native American beliefs came straight from Mesoamerica (Mayans, Aztecs, Incans, etc), and if you look at the majority of their symbology and rituals and worldviews, they are very similar.

Moat of what you said is correct, but the beast with the heads and the horns is symbolic. The horns/heads represent certain kings or something like that.

Well yea, there are some coincidences that are actually funny ( or they are to me ). But the "prophecies" are just a bunch of junk I can make a prophecy that a war will come in just a little time and it will affect the entire world, blah, blah. But there will be more wars and the wars will always affect the world. There are things that will always happen and they will happen again. So there will always be prophecies, and believe me... is not that hard to make one.

Well, there was a pretty bad glitch on Runescape on 6/6/06... cost a lot of people a lot of (game) money on that game...

I know, not important enough. Just a really freaky coincidence.
