I HAVE A GAME... SORT OF. it's sort of a game. As he left for a trip to his outlying regions, the jealous nobleman warned his pretty wife, “Do not leave the castle while I am gone or I will punish you when I return.” But as time passed, the young woman grew lonely. Despite her husband’s warning, she decided to visit her lover who lived in the countryside nearby. The castle was surrounded by a moat teeming with deadly crocodiles. The only way across was by the castle drawbridge. ‘My husband will not return before dawn,” she thought and ordered her servants to lower the drawbridge and leave it down until she returned. After spending several pleasant hours with her lover, the Lady returned to the drawbridge, only to find it blocked by a madman wildly waving a large and dangerous sword. “If you attempt to cross this bridge, My Lady, I will kill you!” he raved. Fearing for her life, the Lady returned to her lover and asked him to help her. “Our relationship is only a romantic one,” he said. “And the nobleman would surely kill me should he find out. I will not help.” The Lady then found a boatman on the river, explained her plight to him, and asked him to take her across the river in his boat. “I will take you across only if you pay my fee.” “But I have no money with me!” The Lady pleaded. The boatman refused. “That is too bad, no money, no ride.” Her fear growing, the Lady ran crying to the home of a friend and after again explaining the situation, begged for enough money to pay the boatman his fee. “If you had not disobeyed your husband, this would not have happened,” the friend said. “I will give you no money.” With dawn approaching and her last resource exhausted, the Lady returned to the bridge in desperation, attempting to cross to the castle and was slain by the madman. You have six characters, The Boatman, The Lover, The Friend, The Madman, The Lady/Wife, and The Nobleman Who's most at fault for the wife's death? Rank them from 1-6, from most responsible to least. I'm curious to see what everyone thinks Mine are: 1. The Wife 2. The Husband 4. The Friend 5. The Lover 6. The Madman
1. The Madman I live by the philosophy of "Whoever committed the crime is responsible for the crime."
1. The Madman - go home 2. The lover - for being a jerk 3. The wife - for picking the jerk 4. The friend - be a better friend 5. The boatman - eh, not his problem 6. The nobleman - all he did was leave
1. The Madman - Well he's the one that did it. Only thing in his favor is that there was fair warning. 2. The Wife - Afraid of her husband or not, crossing that bridge was known death. Almost anything else makes more sense. Or heck, tell servants to keep an eye out for her instead of just leaving the bridge down. 3. The Lover - Even if he didn't want to do much (probably fearing the husband) he should have done something. 4. The Friend - Pretty much same as above. 5. The Husband - Not enough information about him. We know he's jealous (which he was right to be), but the rule may have been because of the mad man. Regardless, unless punishment meant torture or something I can't see huge fault here. 6. The Boatman - Just doing his job. Although I'm surprised he wouldn't accept being paid after, he is taking her home to her castle afterall. She's obviously good for the money.
