Kingdom Hearts II The Dragon in TWTNW

I've always been a bit curious about this but never really asked until now.

The dragon you fight with Riku while riding the flying vehicle, is it a giant Nobody like Twilight Thorn?

If so who or what did it come from, and why is it a part of the castle?

If you think you can explain this, your theories would be greatly appreciated.

 

I think the dragon is most likely a giant nobody like you said. I say this because it's whiteish gray like all the other nobodies, and when's the last time you fought anything besides a nobody in TWTNW? But the first time I played it, I did think it was a giant robot lol.
As for where it came from, my guess is that Xemnas just created it like all the other lesser nobodies. And it's purpose is to be Xemnas's ship as he tries to shoot down Sora and Riku.

 

Remember, they're technically in Kingdom Hearts at that time, not TWTNW. Xemnas probably willed the castle to become like that because he basically created that world. Just a theory though.

 

Well even after they exit Kingdom Hearts and once Kairi, Donald, Goofy, and Mickey go through the dark portal, it shows up. At that point, I believe they are in TWTNW... at least for that one fight...

 

My theory is it's either a giant robot or a Nobody. When I battle it (A lot..when I feel like it) it looks like a giant robot. But then yet it has that Nobody tint to it, and the symbol, so you already know it belongs to the Nobodies. I'm aiming more toward giant robot flying thing/machine though.

 

I always thought that is of another form of Xemnas since after you defeat the dragon you fight him in while he's in armor, and finally you fight his his his black and white attire for the final battle.

 

But when you fight him in his armor he's riding it. How does THAT work out?

I think AwkwardFailure is probably on the right track. It makes more sense because it acts more like some sort of machine. But could it be a possible hybrid...?

 

iirc, the Piggyback guide says it's a form os Xemnas, though I can't find it atm.

 

Yeah, the dragon is supposedly his 3rd form, although I don't see how he becomes a giant dragon. Maybe it's some kind of mecha thing or whatever, like what Marluxia used during the final fight in CoM

 

But Marluxia's body was visible during those fights, here Xemnas' isn't at all. And when you're in Kingdom Hearts the dragon appears to be a part of the castle... damn, this is confusing...

 

It has to be a separate entity from Xemnas since he's riding it. This isn't like Ansem SoD and World of Chaos. Or at least I've never noticed a physical connection to the dragon.

It kind of hard to tell if it is a machine or nobody. The symbols are inconclusive since it is just a symbol and has been placed on objects before. On one hand it seems robotic having engines and a core, but it also has a distinct feel of being alive. I'm not sure where you are getting it being a part of TCTNW, but again I may have just overlooked something.

Well, at least we could imagine that it's Xemnas that was. And the crown at least has SOME resemblance to him.

And the dragon being part of the castle is here. Not of TCTNW but of the castle you fight in while inside Kingdom Hearts.

 

Actually, I think the dragon is his ship, but he's inside it. And I'm also pretty sure the ship is the castle itself.

 

Meh. This one isn't TOTALLY out of the question. It makes a bit more sense than any of MY theories, anyway.

 

I personally think it's the nobody of the heartless dragon you fought in the Land of Dragons. If you look at them you can kind of see a resemblance...
