So I wasn't necessarily sure as to which section this would be more benefitial under, but I know that a number of my friends on here as well as members in general are always wondering what options exist outside of high school. Yes there is college, working, partying, etc. But this is when I include internships. Internships you may think, are small attempts at branching into a big corp or 6 months of hell with minimal pay. For both answers you may be correct dependent on the specific internship you may look into. So brings me to the Disney College Program, an internship open to all college students currently enrolled in a college or university. It is an internship that provides you work experience, housing, money and above all the ability to go into WDW any day you aren't working and have fun. So i thought it might be a good idea to start a thread in case people were interested in the program where they could ask a current participant any questions about the program and receive a first hand account. So ya.
Is it difficult to get accepted? I mean... I'm sure a ton of people apply for it, but it has been something I considered. I'm at a community college in the mean time.
I'm doing the International Bacheloriate program, so I doubt it would be that hard for me to get accepted into this. I'd like to know more info about this, however. I love Disney, and it'd be amazing to get an internship there. Plus I live an hour away from DW. It is a bit difficult to get into, but it is dependent on the number of roles that one applies for, and length of term. I'm doing the Advantage Program which is 8 months instead of 5 so from what i've heard, it is a bit easier to get into the longer programs. Just because you are allready in a program doesn't mean that you are all ready a shoe in candidate for Disney. www.wdwcollegeprogram.com if you are seriously interested.
I would personally love to have some sort of Disney college, even if it meant that I would have to prepare the entire time to clean up by the tea cup ride. My dream freshman year of high school was to work for Disney in some way, which I still think would be awesome. This thread kind of excites me, and I'm sorry if this technically has no relevance to the current conversation.
i'm going to trade schol and high school? This program seems like a very impressive thing i mean i bet it was a long wait. Then again are you going to a school or on the comp.?
Working for Disney was always one of those "ya right" dreams I had. I'd been gathering info about the program for 3 years before finally biting the bullet. This program is not only giving me some much needed real world experience in guest interactions, but also creative problem solving and conflict resolution. Plus, having Disney on a resume can't be too bad either. Right now I'm doing this full time till August, at which time i will be a college program representative at my unversity for 4 months. No i'm not doing any schooling right now.
