Chapter 1 She ran throughout the house, avoiding the wrath of her father. She hit many loose objects as they clattered and shattered to the floor. She ran through the hallway and tried to make it to the front door, but he grabbed her fairly long brown hair and yanked her body backwards. Outside few people could hear the scream, and moaning from the teenage girl, but they walked on. She lay on the ground as her father threw objects at her, as he kicked her, and punched her. Once his tirade was over, he left her there, walked over to his recliner, and sat down, putting his hand up to his head, in irritation. The girl let out small breaths trying to take in air that was beat out of her. The small whimpers soon became sobbing. She slowly got up. Her hair covering her now soft bloody face. Her father looked over at her, the anger out of his eyes. The girl stood there, her arm across her stomach as her hand touched her elbow. Her head tilted downward as the mixture of tears and blood trickled off her face. "Go to your room and lock your door. I don't want to harm you anymore. I'm sorry I lost my temper Casey," he said tears filling up in his eyes. "Thank you dad," she said. She turned around and walked down the hallway delicately. She opened the door of her bedroom, and walked in. She did as she was told and she locked her door. She then walked over to her computer center and sat down in her pink rolling chair. She put her aching hand on her mouse and opened up her msn instant messenger system. She waited for the internet to accept her signing on. She saw no new messages, but her pen pal Mark messaged her. "Hello Beautiful," his IM said. She replied back. "Hey Mark. "how are you doing tonight?" he wondered. "Very bad, Dad got mad tonight," she wrote back. "Did he hurt you again?" he asked again. Casey took a deep breath and answered, "Yes." Mark was worried about her. He loved her very much and did not want anything to happen to her. "Let me see," he said. Casey sighed, worrying what he would say. She moved the cursor over to the web cam icon. She clicked it and waited for Mark to accept. Once he accepted the invitation, he saw her face, beaten up, her brown hair mixed with blood, and her arms bruised. "I want you out of there tomorrow!" he told her. "I can't do that Mark. I'm the only person he's got since mom died," she told him. Mark sighed and wrote back. "Well are you hurt anywhere else?" she asked. She wrote back. "I'm not sure. I have not checked"" she said. He wrote back. "Casey I worry about you very much," he said. Casey wrote back "I'm sorry for making you worry," she told him. "You should not be sorry for anything! You are a very beautiful girl and you should not have to put up with him. Just say the word and Social Services can protect you," he told her. "I know Mark, but I cannot abandon him. I cannot leave him here alone. I must stay," "I want to come visit you," he told her. Casey was shocked. "How can you? You love three states away," she informed him. "I will drive there," he informed her, she chuckled softly. "You would do that for me?" she asked. He answered "Yes, I would do anything for you." At that note she smiled. She wrote back, "When do you think you can come?" she asked. "Tomorrow?" he asked. Casey's eyes got wide. "Really!?" she wrote him. Once he got the IM he chuckled. "Only if it's okay with you," he answered. Casey's throat felt tight. She just remembered what would her father think. She sighed and wrote back. "It would be okay if my father is okay with it." "Ask him when he is in a better mood, he wrote her. "I will. Thanks Mark. I better get going. It's late and I have to wash this blood off my uniform. I love you as a BFF. Goodnight," she said then signed off She got her uniform off and got in the shower. After cleansing her body, she got out, and dried herself off, and put on new clothes. She unlocked her door coming out of her bathroom, and walked into the washroom. She put her uniform in the washer, put the cleansing powder in. She would have to stay up later than what she should to get her uniform clean. She walked into the living room where her father was. She walked over to him softly. He looked asleep, where his head was tilted downward, but he wasn't moving. She examined him more closely and saw blood. Not a small amount, but gushing, liters of blood pouring from his neck. His eyes wide open. He was dead. Casey backed up to a wall. She saw in his hands the knife he used. She let out a scream. She put her hands over her mouth, as she cried, and screamed. She slid her fragile body down the wall. She sat there crying for a while, until she stood up and called the ambulance and police. She packed her wet uniform, her school shoes, and her school supplies, and then walked out of her house. She walked to her best friend Megan's house. She knocked on the door and was greeted by her mother. “Casey what is wrong?” she asked the second she saw me on the front step of her door. She put her hands on Casey’s cheeks and looked at the bruises her father left. “Dad,” she answered. She knew what she was talking about. She took the stuff from Casey’s hands and led her inside. Megan’s mother was divorced, so there were no males in the house, other than her pet dog Sparky. Megan’s mother, or Teressa Danielle, was a fairly nice and wonderful woman. She had black long hair, and blue eyes. She was half Chinese, and so was Megan. She was wearing white and blue pajamas at the time. She took Casey up to the guest bedroom. Teressa was a lawyer, and was very wealthy. She looked over Casey as her daughter, since her mother died. Casey stayed with them until her father wanted her back home. “Casey, tomorrow you shall stay home and explain to me what happened. Right now you need to rest. Are you hurting?” she asked gently trying to comfort her. Casey nodded softly. “Yes. I have a terrible headache, and my left side hurts,” she said. Teressa nodded back. “I will go get some pain relievers. Make yourself at home, and I will be right back,” she said. She walked out of the room after setting Casey’s stuff on the bed. Casey unpacked her light luggage and got in the small bed. Teressa came back with two small white pills, and a glass of water. “Sleep well. I will inform Megan that you are here in the morning. She is asleep at the moment,” she said. Casey nodded, then dumped the pulls in her mouth, then took a sip of water to help it go down her throat. She fell asleep quickly.
This time, I did cry. *blows nose* No lie, and I'm not afraid to admit it. It was well written, and the emotions in the, uh... "story" were portrayed quite good. I felt every one of those emotions better, than in most stories I've read by those "Professional Authors" who write all of those crazy books forced upon us by English teachers to read (sorry, I'm in the middle of an 800-something or other page book, and I just can't get over how boring it is, and that if I fail the test that's on Monday about it, I'll fail English). The only thing that makes me able to comment on your story in this slightly off-hand way, would be your updated sig. I hadn't read it until right after your story. Sorry, the clown got to me. Made me laugh. Please, continue whenever you can. Just don't rush yourself. Something like this, that seems so heartfelt, needs its time.
Oh my gosh! Thank you so much :D I'm in the middle of the 2nd chapter right now. It's even sadder. I have to copy it from paper to the computer becuase I want my friends to read it. Again, THANK YOU very much and don't worry, I phail at english too :p I edited and posted the rest of chapter one :D
that was really moving to me and I almost cried (ever since I turned 13 only five things have made me cry and only one was due to fiction). It sounds so terrible and shocking and I'm also listening to the theme of love orchestrated (thats from FFIV). I really liked it and it moved me a lot I give this four starts out of five.
Chapter 2 Casey awoke the next morning with caution. She got up and brushed her hair. She then walked downstairs and heard a man talking to Teressa. She saw a police officer sitting down at the table with Teressa. "Casey, good morning. This is Office Justin Mclain. He responded to the call you made last night," she informed. "Hello Casey. I am very sorry to hear about your father. It has also come to my attention, you are now an orphan. No parents, uncles, aunts, nor grandparents," he said. Casey felt like saying 'Thanks for rubbing it in,' but she was in no mood to put up with him. "Officer Mclain, I am both happy and sad my father killed himself last night. He abused me, raped me, and never cared for me. HE only cared about not going to prison for the rest of his life," she said. Teressa looked at Casey in shock, but Officer Mclain did not. "Miss Coleman, this is the first assignment I've had, since I just got the job. Right now, I can fully relate to this problem, and I will let you know that us, NYPD, is here to protect you. We try our best to arrest those who are breaking the law, and I promise you this. No one will ever touch you again. Okay?†he said to her. A teardrop went down her cheek. “I understand,†she said softly. He smiled at her and stood up from the table. He shook her hand and tipped his hat to her. “I am much honored to be in this case. Lovely to meet you, and Ms. Danielle, but I must take my leave now,†he said then walked over to the front door and let himself out. Teressa looked over at Casey with passion and sadness. “Casey, please sit down and talk to me,†she said softly. Casey nodded and sat down next to her. Teressa pulled herself closer to Casey. “What happened last night? From the beginning,†Teressa said to Casey. Casey let out a sigh and took a deep breath. Nothing else could happen. Nothing could be any worse for her. “Yesterday I came home from school. Dad wasn’t home at the time. I did my homework. I was done around six pm. I was getting ready to take a shower, and then he came home. I looked outside, and saw him getting out of the car. He was drunk. It took him about ten minutes for him to get to the door. I panicked knowing something was going to happen. He came in the door, and looked at me. I stood over in the corner of the room and I cried. He stomped over to me and grabbed my wrist. He threw me over his shoulder, but I kicked and pushed myself off. He got mad at me. He grabbed me by my hair and dragged me into his room. But before he could do anything, I got out, and ran throughout the house. I tried to make it to the front door, but he grabbed my hair again. He yanked me back, and started hitting me, and kicking me. He threw stuff at me too. Once his tirade ended, he told me to go to my room, and lock my door. So I did. I got online, and talked to Mark about it, and then I got off. I walked into the living room, and I saw him dead. He killed himself. I called the police and ambulance, and then got my stuff and I rushed over here,†she explained. Teressa looked over at Casey and put her hand on her shoulder. “No child should ever have to suffer from that,†she said. Casey nodded and stood up. She looked at the time and saw it was 2:48 pm “It’s this late?†she asked shocked. Teressa nodded. “Yes. I did not want to wake you. You needed your rest,†she said. Casey sighed. “Well, I am kind of expecting someone today,†Casey informed her. Teressa nodded. “Who dear?†she asked. Casey felt her throat tightening again. She opened her mouth but no words came out. This happened for a few seconds, and then she finally said, “Mark.†Teressa looked worried. “Mark is coming to visit?†she asked. Casey nodded. Teresa sighed. “Be Careful Casey. He could be an internet stalker,†Teressa said. Casey sighed. “He is not. I’ve seen his web cam. He is very handsome and sweet. She said. Teressa nodded. “Just try to be careful,†she said then walked upstairs. Casey walked into the living room and watched television for about half an hour. Around 3:23 pm, Megan arrived home. She ran over to Casey and hugged her like a best friend would. “Casey! I am so sorry to hear about your father,†she said. Casey sighed. “Don’t be. I hated him,†she said. Megan gave her another hug. “Oh yeah, someone came to school to see you,†Megan informed Casey. Casey had an odd look on her face. “Who was it?†she asked anxiously. Megan shrugged. “I don’t know. They only called for your name because you had a visitor,†she explained. Casey thought for a moment and thought of only one person… Mark. Suddenly a knock on the door quieted down the room. Teressa walked from downstairs and over to the door and opened it. There, on the front door step, was a seventeen year old teenage boy wearing a black long sleeved polyester jacket, along with a white tank top, that revealed a six pack on his stomach. He wore long holy jeans, and some black and white tennis shoes. His medium brown hair covered half of his face as it dropped down in a “V†shape. He spoke politely. “Hello Maim, I am looking for Casey Coleman. She lives around here and I was told at the school earlier this would be the place to find her if she wasn’t home,†he explained. Teressa let him in and led him into the living room. “What is your name sir?†Teressa asked. The teenage boy wandered his aqua eyes around the cast room. He saw Casey and Megan. “My name is Mark Vincent,†h answered. Casey’s eyes shot open. She took a step closer and put her hand on his cheek. Mark did the same back to her, careful not to harm her from the bruises. “Casey?†he asked softly, waiting for the correct and hopeful answer of yes, as he gazed deeply into her eyes. “It’s me Mark,†she said softly. A tear formed in her eye, then rolled down her face. Mark quickly noticed it. He wrapped his arms around her fragile body and held her close. “Do I sadden you Casey?†he asked, his voice softened and his smile very heart warming. “No, I am just happy to see you,†she said smiling. Teressa let out a noticeable cough. “If you two would like, you can go for a walk and talk to each other,†she said softly. Casey looked away from the spell binding eyes she jus fell in love with. “That’s a good idea Teressa,†Casey said. Mark nodded, and led her to the door. Casey put on her shoes, and walked out on the cold windy day, along with Mark.
