I was actually really surprised to see no thread already made about the movie, besides a few from more than 3 years ago.

Anyway, The Avengers, for all 3 of you who don't know already, is Marvel's upcoming film that features the likes of superheroes Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Hawkeye, Nick Fury, and Black widow, who team up to battle Loki and saaaaaaave teh woooooorld.

Comes out April 25th for France, April 26th in the UK, and May 4, 2012 for the US, but it will be called Avengers Assemble in the UK because I don't know?

    Trailer:

Also, apparently the film hasn't finished shooting as of today, April 13.

Wonder what the new scene'll be...

I'm actually looking forward to this.
I mean I doubt it's going to be that amazing since it's been hyped for 5 years, but it'll probably end up being entertaining, at least. I do wonder what this new scene is. Probably a sort of hint of a sequel.

Edit: I just checked, it comes out on the April 25th here in France woooo.

I'm really looking forward to this movie. I saw the trailer for it in the cinema and instantly I was pumped.
Also, Loki = best villain ever. No questions.

And I'm really glad that we're getting this movie first >:3, it's always nice to have the first bash at something like this.
The title of the film kinda bugs me, seems kind of pointless for them to change it tbh, but regardless of that I like both versions.

    I don't get why the US isn't getting it first. The Avengers is very much an American thing. Hell, we've got Captain America. Oh well. Despite the bad decision, I'm extremely hyped for this movie. Hopefully one hero won't get more screentime over another but I feel that Iron Man just might. That's alright though since he's the best. >>;

I haven't kept up with the rumors in a while since we have all of this official information, but supposedly Spider-Man and Ant-Man (Hank Pym, not Scott Lang) will have cameos. Because of the way Marvel does their chronology in films, it'd most likely be Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker before he becomes Spider-Man or Hank Pym's name being mentioned (due to Ant Man's current film status with Hank being Ant Man in the '60s and Lang in the modern day) though Hank was referred to in Thor in a deleted scene.

    Anyway

Oh that is going to be a fun day. Can't wait! I'll bet they're shooting the "After credits" shot that all of these movies have.

I beat it'll be great... but I think is kinda sad that they changed the Hulk, this new actor is very lame.. even in his comic/love movies he makes they are all bleh.
Black widow and Hawkeye in the movie will be there just so Captain America and the Iron Man (and Thor) can boss some one around... we don't spect to see they stopping that giant METAL FLYING SNAKE! Not with guns and bows..

I think it's pretty good, but I'm not going to get my hopes up too high. It's 2 days after my birthday, so that's cool.
I wonder what the enemy is going to be. Aliens? Robots? Mutated dogs? The possibilities are endless.

Even though I'm positive Robert downey is going to be getting an unfair amount of screentime compared to the others, i still wanna see this movie. While its not fair, I do like him/iron man the most out of all the "main" characters. The fact that spider man/peter parker might make a cameo is awesome though (#1 fav superhero yo).

I also just love how snarky Robert can be. :D

Admittedly, he is the best actor out of the whole team, aside from possibly Samuel L. Jackson. Not at all saying that the other guys are bad per say, just...its Robert Downey Jr.

Last scene being shot on my birthday. Yay~

This is going to be so exciting. Also, I can't wait to see Andrew Garfield as Spiderman/Peter Parker. His cameo shall be grand.

Yay, I have waited so long for this. I hope it won't be a disappointment, but I doubt it will. The way everything was setup is pretty cool.
Also once/if there is a sequel, Spider-Man better be in it. c:

The only reason I see Iron Man getting more screen time is because of his role in the avengers.

I don't know. I think Chris Hemsworth is the better actor here. Everyone else (on the Avengers' lineup) plays a normal human who became a superhero, but Hemsworth plays a freakin' demigod. In my opinion, it's a completely different mindset that he has to put himself into and a personality that he has to work for and he does it perfectly. RDJ is a great Iron Man, but I have my problems with him. The personality is close, but not spot-on. RDJ adds the snarkiness he has himself in most of his characters (as most actors usually end up doing so, hence "typesetting") which isn't exactly Iron Man, at least recently. Also, RDJ is a bit...old lol I really wish they found a way to make him look younger. Not saying he's a bad actor or bad for the part, I just think he as Iron Man shouldn't be the star of the Avengers' movies. and it pisses me off when people claim to be "Iron Man fans" when in reality they're "RDJ as Iron Man fans."

But I'm biased. They claim Avengers is not supposed to have a "main character" because it's a team movie, but it'll be from Captain America's point of view and yet, Iron Man keeps getting the spotlight. Iron Man's role in the Avengers is big, but it shouldn't overshadow Captain America's, or even Thor's and Hulk (founding members, along with Ant Man and Wasp).

Also, they mentioned before wanting to use the Avengers to shoot off movies of other heroes such as Hawkeye and Black Widow and more obscure characters like Wonder Man, Vision, Black Panther, etc. I'm really hoping they leave some kind of opening in here, like...an obvious reference/cameo.

a video that's only 1:05 long, and it's still nice. Interesting way to label each of the guys though.

And it'll be strange to have a spider-man cameo. I was just watching the first movie earlier, and just imagining what it would be like if he met the Avengers. I can't believe it's coming up so soon though. I'm hoping I can see it before I go for service. . I have to see if there's any other trailers out there.

And if they do make another movie, who wants to bet they'll make Doom the main villain? I mean seriously, they make that guy the big bad villain for every marl alliance thing

I really hope he isn't in any sort of Avengers sequel. It wouldn't make sense. Spidey never worked very well with them. Several times the Avengers told him that he didn't really fit in. Surprisingly, Spider-Man is much more of a solo superhero.

    Iron Man says suck it~

To be honest, I loved Iron Man since I first saw him(though I think RDJ does a good job as Tony). He's always been awesome. Still, Captain America is more of the leader figure for the Avengers just because he's freaking Captain America.

Anyways, I wonder how Stan Lee will stick himself in this movie. He should make himself a main character. 8D Stan Lee as Captain Thor-Iron Hulk...of America!

I've loved all of the Marvel movies. I'm a big Marvel fan overall.

Of the Marvel movies so far, I enjoyed Captain America the best. I'm really curious to see how he's going to tie into the film.

Really though, what they have going here with the Marvel Universe is awesome. All the movies feel interconnected because of the upcoming Avengers movie, so I'm really eager to see it. ^.^
