Kingdom Hearts II Terra's connection with Riku?

Obviously, there's a little more evidence now then there was before. First of all, their names are similar in meaning, and as you know, names mean a lot in KH. Second, Terra's left arm is frozen in the Final Mix Secret Ending. Riku hardly ever moves his left arm in The World That Never Was. In fact, he doesn't move it at all when he's walking. (Go back to TWTNW, I swear). Plus, he also wears a bandage or something on his left arm. I know I made a thread similar to this one a while back. I'm doing it again because now there is more evidence.
P.S. To add, if following the theory that Terra has a connection to KH2 Xehanort, then he would have a direct relation to Riku. But I don't necessarily believe in that theory just yet.

 

Hm... Just noticed that a bit. But yeah, the names are obvious. As Sora means sky, and Kai(ri) means ocean, Riku means land, as does Terra (Firma). And yeah, Riku did wear a bandage on his left arm, and didn't move it much... So, maybe we should think along the lines of how the transition of KH1 and KH2 worked? (Example: In ASAS and DD, we believed Roxas was Sora, some random nobody, and a mysterious boy, only because he made three seperate appearances, and we thought Riku was either Riku or technically either Riku or Xehanort's Heartless' Nobody... and we were oblivious to Xemnas besides the fact that we fought him once in KHFM, and saw him sitting down in DD... So, we gotta think more technically here..)

 

Sora means Air
Ven is latin for Sky

Kairi means Ocean or Sea
Aqua is latin for Water

Riku means Land
Terra is also latin for Earth.

That's all you need to know.

 

Riku's arm was damaged when he was fighting Roxas. If you go to the KH2:FM cutscenes you will see it.

 

Of course, you are right. But keep in mind that I am referring to the regular KH2 about Riku's arm. KH2 came out before KH2FM+. Though, they could have planned the whole thing out beforehand. Still, when looking at the time frame of when Roxas dealt his attack on Riku and time it took Sora to get to TWTNW, would Riku really be hurting that bad after such a great amount of time?

 

Well, for all we know it could have been a pretty bad wound, or even a break or something supernatural from the Keyblade.

Probably to give Riku a cool design; think about it, the new secret ending wasn't in FM+ either. He showed his arm getting damaged in the RoxasvsRiku battle to explain the bandage.

Ok this might help but it's also based on a theory and what I've learned from FM+.

Terra and Xemnas/KH2!Xehanort are most likely the same person. So if you put that in that light KH2!Xehanort's Heartless would be Terra's Heartless thus there's the connection to Riku and Terra besides their names.

Ventus is the full word for Air in Latin. So Since Nomura said Ven is a nickname Ventus is probably his full name.

 

Yeah, but when you fought Terra in Final Mix, he expressed a hatred for Xehanort. Why would you hate yourself?

 

That's an easy one to explain.

Now KH2!Xehanort lost his memories, but if you had a deep hatred for something not even lost memories can erase it. Xehanort his only memory, his only connection to who he was. So he kept that name, hoping it would help his memories come back. Only it did the opposite and made him into the character we know and love today. However when Xemnas found Aqua in the room of sleep he started to remember who he was.

Thus after you beat Xemnas, his nobody and his heartless become one and you get the Lingering Spirit AKA Terra.

 

Sweet theory. That is fanfiction worthy stuff.

 

Whoa...that would be an awesome way to follow up KH2, wouldn't it? That way it's not really another thing that's created...just a result. I like that theory. ^^

If you want a really clear link between Riku and Terra, just look at the Kingdom Key. If you noticed in the KH2 secret ending, it was Terra that took the Kingdom Key, and Ven the took the Way to Dawn. I think that Terra and Ven (if the dude somehow got un-frozen) chose who was going to weild their keyblades next. So Terra chose Riku, yet when Riku fell to darkness, the Keyblade might have gone to then closest Keyblade master it could find, or Sora.

Then Somewhere between KH:CoM and KH2, the Way to Dawn Keyblade awoken, but since Sora already had a Keyblade, it might have gone to Riku insteed, since Riku was then walking a path of twilight, not darkness.

So when Sora ran into Terra, Terra gave him that line about "not being the one I chose." So he might have thought that Xehanort had somehow stopped Riku from getting the Keyblade, which in some ways he did, and then some how gave the keyblade to Sora.

Just some random thoughts.
