I actually think it should be because it would make the relationships last longer. I actually want to seem some debating and not just agreeing with the adults here.

btw: 3 people use this profile. the one right now. has myspace.

How exactly does teen sex sustain a relationship anyways?

As long as they're responsible and willing to accept the possible consequences of their actions, they can go right ahead.

I think it should be allowed, because it's their own fault whatever happens to them, they know what the risks are, unless they're like a proper dumbass. But yeah, as long as they know what they're doing and they've really thought about it, sexy party they go =]

Seeing as the legal age is 16 round my neck of the woods (It's 18 in America, amirite?), I'm not too fussed on this. It all depends on peoples own responsibility and maturity (mentally).

Lolz I don't think I can agree with this one. A lot of Teen relationships aren't really relationships. It's usually teens trying to figure out what a relationship is, what real love is. I've heard teens considering having sex with their supposed beloveds when they've only been together for like three weeks, sometimes three days. you don't go and get intimate with someone during that short amount of time. That's just not what you do.

Take a look a Romeo and Juliet. The love, in Romeo and Juliet, was not what you call real love. that's called going and saying, "OMG, that person is hot, so I think I'm going to go and do them." That's typical teen love.

Perhaps the age should be lowwer, but not by much.

Why would that make the relationship last longer?? Where's the logic in that?? If the only thing keeping the relationship from falling apart is sex, then it's really not much of a relationship, is it?

Regardless of whether it's allowed or not, teens are going to do it. That's just the way it is. I say, let them. It's their life, and they have the right to potentially screw it up. I personally think most teens (especially young teens) aren't really mature enough, and so they end up making mistakes they'll regret for the rest of their lives, but hey, who are we to stop them?

Now I'm not saying all teens are too immature. Everyone once in a while teenagers who are actually ready and actually understand the true importance and risks of sex will come along, but this is a very rare occurrence. If they are prepared to live with the consequences, then they should be allowed to do what they want.

Hmmm...I don't know, teen relationships aren't very stable. Adults rather know control and how to keep things at a normal pace. I don't know if it goes the same way for teens.

It shouldn't be allowed, for several reasons:

    1. Teens are still kids. What most people don't realize is that a person's brain doesn't stop growing until they're 21 years old; still developing.

    2. Girls and guys want sex for different reasons, no matter what kind of people are involved. Girls tend to use sex to get love, while guys tend to use love to get sex. If a guy and girl follow that logic, then when they get married, the girl, more than likely, will not give her body completely to the guy because, to her, sex was just a way for her to get a man and get married. Not going to be a very happy marriage for the guy, if he thinks about it.

    3. Sex brings two people together physically, but emotionally, if not spiritually, it pushes them apart. Yes, the moment may be good, but immediately afterward, something will change. This is not like in the movies, media, or whatever, when two people have sex, and nothing changes; that is very inaccurate.

    4. Nothing at all is to say one will immediately leave the other after just having sex.

If all that is keeping a relationship alive is sex then it isn't really that strong a relationship. You might as well just get yourself a **** buddy if that is all you are interested in.

As for sex whilst you are a teenager, well in the majority of places the legal ages are when you are a teenager, like here it is 16.

I don't really think age has a lot to do with it anyways, it is down to whether ot not the individuals are mature enough to be able to deal with the possible consequences. I know some people in their mid-twenties that aren't mature enough for that, yet I know some people who had their first baby when they were barely 18 and they are great parents.

p.s account sharing is against the rules. I advise you stop.

I'm actually kinda for it. I don't think it helps a relationship but I think it would be wise to stop making sex such a forbidden thing. Adam and Eve couldn't hold up against forbidden stuff and neither can we.

I also think that society should focus more on teaching teens how to be responsible and the outcomes of sex instead of "have sex and you will die".

Last Longer??? Where did you get that from??? Relationships with sex dont last long infact they last a very short amount of time, its happened to me before. Most teens will infact do it anyway and will regret it later in life, I say yes allow it but its up to the teen if they want to screw up there life

I personally attach no real stigma to sex itself, as long as both parties are old enough not to get hurt. I would say that, as long as they follow the same rules as adults, let em go for it. I mean, no one is ever able to stop it anyways - teens just lie to their parents about it, and do it anyways, right? I say, who cares? as long as their both old enough to A) understand that sex can give them diseases, and B) be able to have it without being seriously hurt.

This decision, though, would coincide with much more effective sex education, including complete coverage of birth control (both natural and artificial), STDs, teen pregnancy (including costs), and everything else. This would be MANDATORY. You know, when I went through high school, the only sex ed I got was in Health class, and that was just about the biology of it. That shouldn't happen.

First of all, people are going to do what they're going to do regardless if you don't "allow" it. When alcohol was made illegal, people still drank. Murder is illegal, and people still do that. Rape is illegal, and people still do that. There's no way you can stop people from having sex aside from maybe castrating everyone.

Honestly, if people feel that they're ready for sex, I say go ahead. If you weren't ready and you didn't take in all the consequences before acting, too bad. If you were ready and your relationship remains strong, good for you. But sex shouldn't be something that's used to keep your relationship together.

I think that it can drive a relationship apart.....lets say that the guy/girl wants some and the other person wants to wait.....that can make the realtionship unstable........

I am a teenager, and I think that teens should wait till were more mature, not just mentaly, but physclly.
Well my PDHPE teacher told me that but I agree with her.
Also it should be with the one you love not just a random fling =\

In an ideal world sure, but that isn't always the case, love when you are a teenager is a very strange thing. You can be so completely head over heels with someone and then when you are older realise that actually it was nothing more than hormones and lust.

With regards to being physically mature to have sex, I am not quite sure I get where you are coming from with that, since the majority of people once they reach their mid-teens are already well into puberty.

If I were a father, I would want my son/daughter to have sex AFTER marriage. Not that it's going to work, but I'm mostly for that.

Well I'd hate to say "I told you so!" to the couple that have a baby, so it should be their own choice. I'm not sure how it makes a relationship last longer but they need to take responsibility for their actions. Whatever they say or do in this case, will be used against them in the future.

Sex before marriage, is fine with me just as long as that person left an impact on my life and wasn't just a one night hook-up.

I agree with Misty. Even though alcohol, sex & drugs are all against the law, it makes citizens want to act illegally and make it 'fun'. If you're that ready for sex go ahead, people are warned and given caution before sex so if you don't take that into perspective, it's your own fault.
