Teen had samurai sword in street riot

A YOUTH has been found guilty of brandishing a samurai sword when his house came under attack and his street turned into a "war zone" during a feud.

Thomas Doran, now 18, was a juvenile at the time of the incident outside his home, in Brookview Park, in Tallaght, in Dublin, in the early hours of May 29 last.

He had denied the charge.

Three gardai told the court that a number of people had been fighting on the street outside the boy's home.

Garda Stephen Murray said the youth "had a black samurai sword in his possession and was waving it in a threatening manner".

Garda Claire Meehan saw the teenager holding the 12inch sword, but admitted that it was not recovered. She also said that the youth resisted arrest and had to be restrained.

The teen was remanded to next week when Tallaght Court will consider if a previous one-year suspended sentence should be activated.

This reminds me of last year in my cafeteria.
I was getting up to get a drink when I heard something fall. I looked around and saw this tall Asian kid with a ponytail pick up his sword.
It took a moment to realize what I had just saw xD

Maybe it was self-defense? Seems like it to me.

Seems like a pretty cool guy.

Also, he didn't do anything wrong. I'm pretty sure waving a sword about is legal; it's when you start cutting people that the law gets involved.
