Here is a question for you: Me and my brother were arguing over Riku's Soul eater. I think it's a sword given to him by Malefipicent and my brother thinks it's a dark keyblade, What acctually is it?

Darkness from his heart, made real by Maleficent.
Or just random Darkness, but it was still Maleficent's work.

    And oh, it's obviously a Sword >_>

It has no characteristics that make it look like a key so I would have to go with sword.

It is a sword, but isn't it later turned into a keyblade? 0____0

It's a sword made of darkness. Some idiot tried to argue with me FOREVER on YouTube that it was a keyblade. Ugh!

but wait, does it count somewhat as a key? as it was later used as a key when opening the door in KH2? or was it different since the sword/key is called Way to Dawn? I mean it even has a keychain. It does not have to necessarily have to have the characteristics or a blunt key like Sora and Mickeys default key, look at KH2 Oathkeeper for example.

So in a way Rikus weapon acts as an evil man made key as made by Maleficent.

Since i have no idea what im talking about i will just stick with the "its an evil/mutated keyblade born from his jealousy and other evil dothingys"

The Way To Dawn that he uses in Kingdom Hearts II is a keyblade, but the Soul Eater, which he uses in Kingdom Hearts and Chain of Memories is the weapon in discussion. They do bear a resemblance, but this is probably because they both come from Riku's darkness.

Soul Eater, I believe, is not a Keyblade, but Riku's Darkness made real by Maleficent. Way to the Dawn IS a Keyblade that looks similar to Soul Eater/

Fenrir, however, is a Keyblade, but not modeled like the others. It is modeled to resemble a pin tumbler lock key.

Fenrir has a keychain and in my opinion as long as it has a keychain, its a keyblade

Its based on a Car/Motorcicle Key instead of the usual in order to reference the Fenrir motorcycle, that's why it looks like a sword at first =|

Soul Eater = Not a Keyblade, and thus, a Sword
    Way to Dawn = Keyblade
Keyblade of People's Hearts = Dark Keyblade

    Pretty simple here. You win.

But the Keyblade of People's Hearts was incomplete, therefore fake, wasn't it?

    No keychain = No keyblade.
    Just keeping it simple.

The Way to the Dawn is a Keychain for Riku's Keyblade that is found in Kingdom Hearts II and Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. Like Sora's Keyblade, it is a Keyblade of the Realm of Light. Its form is based upon the Soul Eater, which it uses as an intermediary, and its name and design reflect Riku's nature as a being halfway between both light and darkness. In Kingdom Hearts II, Riku continues to use the Soul Eater throughout his appearances, and this eventually causes Sora to realize that Riku is the mysterious hooded stranger the group had been encountering. However, by the time Riku arrives at The World That Never Was, the Soul Eater has been transformed into the Way to the Dawn. Even after this, Riku continues to refer to his weapon as the Soul Eater. And The Keyblade of People's Hearts, sometimes referred to as Riku's Keyblade, is a Keyblade created by Xehanort's Heartless from the Hearts of the Princesses of Heart, with the exception of Kairi. In addition to being a combat weapon like Sora's Keyblade, this Keyblade has the ability to unlock a person's heart, releasing the Darkness within. So i think that would be simple meaning that Way To The Dawn is a Keyblade and Soul Eater is just a sword
