I don't know if I'm going forward or backwards, I wanted to give it a "Cherry blossom" setting, but I couldn't pull that quite right.
REBEL 3: AKSHON Of the three I've looked at, I appreciate the simplicity of this one the most. The effects used contribute to its sleekness and draw attention to the interesting features: the mask, the tensed right arm, the left resting on the blade. But they never overpower Haku-men himself. The blur around the sides makes it seem that his very presence cuts through the image. As with the others, your color choice is spot-on. The one thing that sticks out is that the blur in the bottom right is a bit extreme, starts to look like a big negative space. Not sure how you'd fix that without compromising the image. Maybe some sharper color contrast around his legs? Then there'd be something going on in that space. Either way, great piece.
First of all oh my god thank you so much for actually critiquing my stuff. Secondly, yeah, I understand what you mean, but the thing is that blotch of color was originally a space background, which I blurred and smudged over because it looked too sharp/grainy for my taste (The white sharpened dots on it just killed it), but let's try to fix this shall we: I pasted his emblem again, this time on the form of a clipping mask, any better?
Mm, it definitely fills the empty space. But like I feared, it draws focus away from Haku-men. Idk, they're both good in their own way. Now I can't decide which I like better @_@
Oooh, no I like the emblem thing and these colours make me want to drool. I would either make the blurring more gradual up the image, like make the very bottom the most blurred. Or use some smudging to just cover it up. However, I think this is beautiful just like all your work Laplace! The border in very unusual but it does work so yeah, very nice and keep it up Laplace! : D
