Superpowers

Doubtless such a thread has been made before, but: if you could have any (one) superpower, what would it be?

For me, shapeshifting. Includes the ability to

a) grow wings (flight)
b) grow gills (aquatic respiration)
c) enhance muscle tone (strength)

There are too many reasons as to why I want this power. Some are quite obvious however :P

 

Shape-shifting.

 

Manipulation over time. You could avoid so many disasters, unless ur dat ****** Noel from FFXIII-2 could like, live in Renaissance times, win the lottery like 1000 times (because spamming money is cool), you'd have endless time to do whatever you want, and you could see how screwed we'll be in 30 years.

 

Talking with birds.

 

As a shapeshifter, I could shift into a bird and would (presumably) be able to speak to them. It trumps every other superpower, that I can think of...

But I regret mentioning shapeshifting, for now I have instilled it into others... would be preferable if posters answered unbiased.

 

Ability to negate other super powers.

Come at me.

 

Time/space manipulation.

Come at me.

 

Erase super powers forever

Come at me.

 

But what if you're not fighting someone with super powers?

I mean, unless you're well armed/combat trained. Just wondering.

 

Bookmaker: the ability to drop an opponent's skills, status and emotional state to the same as mine.

 

Waterbending.
Waterbending waterbending waterbending.

And maybe flight but mostly waterbending.

 

What is your state, that of a normal? They could then use your power, but it would... cancel out. Rendering you both normals.

If you're so confident you can succeed on equal footing, I guess.

 

The idea, is in a battle of wits or a battle of strength I'd lose. With this it becomes a matter of whether they can handle suddenly becoming weaker as well as me who's always been weak. It doesn't just remove powers, it changes their physical abilities and mental capacity.

 

I see. You did not mention intelligence (wits) coming into play, though I suppose that was to be inferred as a relevant stat.

This is assuming that you are up against an opponent. I'm curious then, what you could or would use this power for in normal life?

I could cheat on tests by screwing with people I knew were smarter than me. Since it just uses me as a basis, I could theoretically increase other people's stats if they are inferior to mine. This means I could achieve a minimum intelligence level in any group or conversation. I'd probably just use it to make people understand what it's like to be me, though. Being able to understand other people is pretty important and if you can give someone that feeling, I think they'd take it to heart and be more aware of it in their everyday life. Maybe it'd help out or something.
