Here's the thought. The dark side has a variety of creatures in its forces, with Heartless the prominent enemy, then Nobodies, possibly Unversed, if they return in KHIII and then Nightmares.

But from the side of light we only have Spirits and those belong in the Dream World. So i was thinking it would be great if we could summon Aeons, that are maybe even part of the story, following the example of FFX-2, with Aeons turning into Heartless, or something like that.

    Eh, maybe.
No reason to specifically call them Aeons, they're just summons, and in that regard we already came close with that cancelled Bahamut summon in KH1.
I don't really think FF summons fit KH that well though, maybe as boss battles. If they ever do a Final Fantasy world I'd be fine with them being incorporated into the plot. Or maybe have them in Radiant Garden

If you mean Aeons taken directly from FFX, then no. If it were new and completely unique summons, then yes.

I've never really liked nor utilised the summon system in KH. I've always wanted the series to have it's own summoned entities.

As much as I loved the Aeons in FFX, and believe me I did (I used them any and every time I possibly could), I would much prefer that there be some kind of KH-unique summons. Maybe a previous enemy or something, some kind of system similar to the FFXIII-2 monsters is something I would be heavily excited for.

I went by the name is used in FFX, X-2 as Lithium and Dr_Wigglz said.

As for FF summons we already had Cloud in COM. I know that summons in KH are of little use, especially Chicken Little, but i enjoy using them and Aeons would be a nice, if not useful, FF addition to the game. Then again, they could always add FF characters in a D link way.

Well first of all, Cloud was a summon in CoM, where ALL characters are summons.
And that's a total technicality anyways, Cloud is a character within the KH universe, using existing summons is something else

It could be made to fit. The light side needs some beefing up, and it'd be interesting to see the summons of Final Fantasy tradition rendered in the blocky, cartoonish style of the Heartless. Will it happen? Probably not, but I wouldn't turn it down if it did.

If they had established this at the beginning of the series, sure (I'm not sure we need it but whatever), but this late in the series it would be a mistake to introduce a new entity like that.

I agree with Below that it seems late in the game to introduce Final Fantasy creatures as another being within the KH universe (humanoids/Disney characters, Heartless, Nobodies, Unversed, Dream Eaters... Enough already). Further, the term "aeon" is very wrapped up in the lore & my this of FFX, which is not present in or compatible with that of Kingdom Hearts.

As others have said, though, the Summon system could use some innovation. Now that KH3 is integrating Disney rides into the gameplay, it would be nice to see equal/parallel treatment of Final Fantasy. I'd love to see something similar to summoning Cloud, where you could call in a "guest character," of sorts, to come help you in battle. It could tie in well with the series insistence on friendship, though the logistics are tricky. As far as I am aware, Squall lacks teleportation powers in KH. Having Sora adapt their fighting style for a bit, though, would be cool--like doing some martial arts and calling it a Tifa D-Link.

Well that's not quite true, Auron brings the entire FFX mythos in with him

Hardly. He's in the Greek Underworld. That's pretty far from FFX.

But he's the same Auron from FFX, unlike all the other FF characters. During the second visit to the Olympus Colosseum it's shown he has all the memories of FFX.Then during the ending of KH2 Auron is shown dissolving into Pyreflies.
So yeah, he brought FFX with him

Okay, firstly I think it's safe to say my mind wandered a little bit when you said Tifa D-Link.

Secondly, I like the idea of the guest character idea. Considering there's a war going on in KH3 (I think) it would work pretty well if you had some allies that could come in and like, replace either donald or goofy for a few seconds to do one devastating attack. Maybe some of the FF characters will be included as summons through a summoning trinket like disney characters did in KH2?

I don't get what you mean by, "he brings FFX with him" - he has the same appearance as he did in X, yes, and he makes a few random allusions to it, like "this is my story, and you're not part of it". He doesn't mention any other aspect of the story that took place in X, like how he accompanied a summoner on a pilgrimage, aeons, any of the other characters,

or the fact that he's actually dead for that matter

Regardless, I don't get what a watered-down Auron from FFX has to do with supporting aeons in these games. They're still entities that KH characters know nothing about, and which no FF cameos have mentioned, so they would be coming from a whole different FF lore that doesn't really get delved into much in the first place.

The Auron in KH2 is younger than the one in FFX, he hasn't been part of the pilgrimage.
But when Sora gets that doll of him back it plays Auron's backstory

    But...how can he be younger than he was in FFX if;

He's dead, that's why Hades summons him. The plot diverges from FFX canon by making Auron appear in OC, remember that Tidus is on Destiny Island and Yuna is at Radiant Garden, so there is no pilgrimage in this universe. He accepts his death and dissolves into pyreflies at the end of KH2... or something. It's hard to tell.

An introduction of Aeons or of any other FF creature, be it Hypelo, Cactuars etc. and characters doesn't necessarily mean that they have to bring their FF backstory with them. The RYP trio is depicted as fairies and that has nothing to do with their original role not to menton that the rest of the FFX cast existing in KH is scattered all over the game. Aeons, Espers or anything else could either fit or not into KH story/gameplay but since we've seen characters like Cloud, Leon and co. carrying pretty much their FF stories at least to some extent, into the KH story, while others don't, i believe that if and i know chances are very slim, Nomura wanted to make this or that creature fit into the story it could work. My thought was that Aeons could be creatures of light as we have creatures of darkness.

well first of all, cactuars don't have a backstory, they couyld easily add them to KH, and I wouldn't be surprised if they did. They're like Moogles.
But Aeons are actual religious figures, not fictional characters. I mean, religious views aside, these are fictional VERSIONS of those characters.
But like, Shiva, Ifrit, Bahamut, etc are actual things that exist in our world

I am well aware of that but I do not understand what are you trying to say. I mean religion and mythology is an often used topic in videogames one way or another. Take GOW for example. If Aeons were to be used, a whole new mythology could be developed around them, or they could as well just function as weapons.
