I noticed each of the KH stories have a different theme to them. What do you guys think the next installment's theme or themes are going to be? I was thinking about something along the lines of corruption, and perhaps forgotten memories. Any thoughts?

What were the themes of the first two games? Discovering new worlds? Reuniting?

I think the third game will have a lot to do with loss. Maybe loss of lives and homes during the Keyblade War, and loss of memories. It would keep the contrast with the second games positive theme.

To tell you the truth, it is hard to put the themes into words. Chain of Memories definitely has a theme having to do with memories. KH2 I think has to do with emotion and the heart. The first I think has to do with the strength of the heart. But then again, I think there are multiple themes.
Contrast to the other games is good! Loss and coping with it would be good themes to!

Themes for KH1: (This first one is probably the biggest)
-Loss, I mean. Sora loses his friends for cryin out loud.
    -Becoming the hero
-giving (hello, sora practically killed himself)
    -sticking together
-minorly finding what the keyblade is
    KH: COM
    -Memories, plain and simple
    KH2
-I personally thought it was finding yourself but I could be wrong
    -Running from the truth
    -Nobodies and their deaths

    Probably a lot more

KH1 was mainly an initiation story, with Sora progressively becoming a hero. But of course it had all the themes that are common to the KH games, namely the importance of the heart, of emotions, the fight between light and darkness. KH1 alos had a "fairy tale" feel to it, which fitted the themes quite well.

CoM was of course about memories, while Reverse/Rebirth was about finding and accepting yourself.

KH2 had a major theme about existence and melancholy, because of the nature of the Nobodies.

I think the next game, the one about Xehanort's memories, will be mainly about fate : why and how did it all begin, the origin of the keyblades (which are a bit like fate, choosing people and giving them an extraordinary destiny) and probably the links and similarities between past and future.

KH2 seemed to have a theme of Darkness as evil, at least from what I saw. I'd kinda like to see that balanced out, with a theme of Light as evil...

I agree. Fate will likely be part of the next game. I should have though of that since fate was a repeating theme in new secret ending. O.o

Very unlikely. This really isn't the kind of universe where you'd get a plot twist with "the good guys are actually bad guys" : it's a fairey tale setting, and like all fairy tale settings it's mostly manichean (good and evil are clearly defined opposites). Besides, I think DiZ was a good example of ruthless good guy, so hellbent on revenge he used evil methods.

DiZ wasn't a good guy. The Organization was his bloody fault to begin with. But that's just my opinion.

And I'm not talking good guys being bad guys, I'm talking bad guys with a light theme rather than the darkness theme Maleficent and company have.

I hate Yu-Gi-Oh GX, but the Society of Light from season 2 is a good example of the kind of villains I'm talking about.

Creation and time. that's what I think, about the keyblades. It'll be about how the keyblade was created and what happens to it over time.:D But that's just me!
