im sory but i think they could have mada a better story than just going to each world again, dont get me wrong though i love the whole "losing your memory" thing but i also think that they shold have just made it going to each floor instead of going to a new world every floor

sorry if this was already posted

The game is Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories and it is about Sora losing his memories for fake ones as he goes through each world.

I admit some of the story could had been better but it set the stage for Kingdom Hearts II, the introduction of Xemnas in KH Final Mix, 358/2 Days, BBS and Coded.

The storyline is much more deeper in COM. If you have Re:COM you would understand.

So what you're actually saying is that you hated that you had to play through all the worlds? Sure, I suppose that the story didn't make for a good action RPG game, but I think it was necessary to tell it in its full.

I agree, I think the storyline in CoM is the best of the three. Gameplay was lesser than the other installments, but it made up for in story.

I didn't really care for this game, it is my least favorite of all the games. I didn't like how Repliku and Namine were treated, and how it ended. The story could have been way better.

90% of the worlds were hints towards the truth and foreshadowing about how Sora and Namine's story would end. It's tricky to catch up on on the first play-through though, seeing how you have to know the truth to realize why they kept talking about true/fake Memories, and Sora being told to beware his Memories. And then of course all the motifs of friendships and partings and reunions. It's all there, SoNami galore all over the place; you just gotta keep it in mind when playing through.

i kinda am with you on that. the game was a little short and repetitive as well but i think they did a solid job for a pre-quel :D

I agree that it did get a little bit repetetive especially if you start playing the three games in order. But I actually do like the Card Fighting Scheme because it really makes it more strategic and adds a bit more oomf into the game. And Also there were new worlds introduced that set you up for KH2. Overall I think that It was pretty good. Oh and I didn't even mention the Sleights. And The Bosses are WAAAYY harder in this game then in KH2 and Kh1 in my perspective. :\

    Agreed.

I thought the game was quite enjoyable, actually. It's most definitely my favorite installment in the Kingdom Hearts series. Yes, it was a bit boring going through worlds that you had already beaten in the first game, but it really emphasized finding what was truly important, and how important our memories really are to us. Kingdom Hearts II would have been much more confusing had it not been for Chain of Memories.

And I must admit, Riku's side of the game was welcomed with open arms by me. Riku in my opinion is a very impressive character with a lot of potential, and Chain of Memories helped give him a sort of backstory. It gave us his perspective on the darkness inside of him, and set the stage for the character he becomes in Kingdom Hearts II.

although I must admit that I'm a bit biased since Namine is my favorite character. :>

    :D!

Riku = best developed character in the whole series. It started out in KH1, he had his redemption issue in CoM/Re:CoM, Days will show him going through guilt, and then KH2 kicked in (albeit in a lacking manner) for his forgiveness act by Sora.
It's kind of ironic that for a game that's supposed to be Sora's story, it shows a lot more insight about his best friend's character.

Way I see it, CoM/Re:CoM being so kick ass is why Namine is one of my favorite characters ever (ranking up there with Sora and Riku for top spot =3) and SoNami - my favorite couple (Sora/Riku/Nami isn't unthinkable though =3 can't leave Riku alone for too long, after all)

I thought the storyline in CoM was actually really good, to be honest it's the game that really grasped my attention in the Kingdom Hearts series, because 1 & 2 were a bit similar, but they had a different climax, whereas in CoM it was... A little bit of a twist. The involvement of Naminé made it more interesting. Also, I thought that the card system was quite good, because it made it more of a strategy game, and you had to put more thought in the moves you made. Also, Riku's Reverse/Rebirth story was brilliant, because it's nice to see a different character develop more, because as the expression goes: 'There's two sides to every story'. I think Riku was the best developed character over the series:
KH1 - Rivalry with Sora, and getting him drawn into the darkness, and making him extremely jealous that he is not the Keyblade master, then at the end, befriending and helping Sora save the world.
CoM - Learning more about the darkness in him and more about his abilities and who he is.
358/2 Days - His protective side for Sora is shown, and the blindfold is introduced.
KH2 - Learning how to live with his darkness and getting rid of it once and for all.

Which is strange, seeing as Sora's character, the main character of the series, development goes as far as:
KH1 - A naive, lazy, 14-year-old, but he knows his sense of justice, though he's not exactly the smartest kid in the world, and it took him longer to realise what was going on and how to deal with it.
CoM - Still naive, and apparently gullible, also, his feelings for Kairi are shown more in this game, as Naminé only replaced her.
KH2 - Still naive, gullible, but he's stronger and knows more of how to deal with everything, and is learning what really happened with Roxas.

So, I think CoM basically set KH2's story up, and was the story that brought the game together. I'm a little biast as Naminé is also my favourite character XD

I see CoM as an introduction to KH II but I was very disappointed that the Organization Members in it were killed off easily and some of them didn't get even the slightest character development (i.e. Lexeaus).

i agree thats my main problem, that and you go to the same worlds all over again.

I thought the story was alright. I liked Riku's side of the story more because it was different and had given a view into some of the turmoil he faced that wasn't so clear in KH. Sora's story was alright and the Org parts were more deep, but the point of going to the worlds, as others said, was because they were taking his memories away. In RE, you can see more depth in the story than in the first CoM since the characters are acted out more and such. When I first played CoM, I thought of it as mainly a filler game anyway so I didn't expect that much out of it.

In this game, I was actually hoping for a bonus boss fight against Xemnas in the GBA version, and when Re came out I thought they would have made one but they didn't. So, yeah, it could have been better but the game was good anyway.

Storyline was better than 2, can't deny that.

Characters had good development. Things weren't explained without something being backed up. (Marluxia being lord of the castle is one.) Although I felt like it was missing something in the story. Maybe more about Namine? I, for one still see little about her. Although Lexaeus was a stalemate in the game. Little to, if not, NOTHING was EVER explained about him.

Storyline is somewhat pretty good in my opinion. Gameplay wise, throw out the cards, kthxbai.

they had to use the card system since it was on gameboy and the cartridge could not hold enough data to make a worthy game play system any other way. RE:COM was just a remake of the gameboy game in 3d so nothing changed. I agree tohugh, maybe more on Namine although I'm sure in games to come we'll get more then our share of info on her. I thought the story was good though.

The story was ok, revisiting worlds wasnt too bad. The organization scenes were kinda cool

I really wanted them to take wonderland out and put deep jungle back in.
