Wow, color me impressed. It's hard to imagine that only 18 years ago we were just starting to do 3D games with stuff like Final Fantasy, and that was very blocky. Now we have most games looking more and more realistic and the effort put into it is astounding.
I'm glad they've returned to Agni's Philosophy, not just because it seems like a neat premise but it lets us compare between the two. The first looked great too, but this one has a... heavier, I guess, quality to it? In a good way. It's hard to explain. Do we have a video link yet?
Hang on was this the same girl who was in a demo where she escaped on a dragon? I think there was this temple where a spell or something was going on then they all were shot except her. Then she barely escaped, healed herself, and was running away from dogs or something. She just barely made it away from the dogs and got on a dragon to escape. I believe this girl is the same girl from that trailer.
I should have read what you posted earlier. I saw Agni's Philosophy and that's when it all clicked. Is this new Directx12 better than what was initially intended for the game you think?
Well the point was to show how awesome the new software is. There are several pieces about this that simply aren't possible under the tech they had for the previous one. I wouldn't go holding your breath on games looking like this though. It is very hard to design for this level and almost no one would be able to run it (the demo machine was using 4 copies of the best graphics card currently on the market). If anything I wonder if Square is looking to get back into movies. They could even push past this if they don't need to render in real time.
Ah no wonder this demo looked VERY familiar to the one they showed all the way back then with the dragon and stuff. Now if only they can actually turn their tech demos into actual games please (though with them graphics at that kind of quality, I doubt they can run properly on today's technology).
