    I'm going to hate this so much, Square Enix is a very interesting game, and lessening it to Square will just make them sound less epic.

    It shouldn't be too much of a problem to get used to it, especially considering they're just removing "Enix" and not changing the entire name.

    Name changes are always good.

    I am used to Square Enix wtf. ;~;

    Like Kayate said, the Enix part of their name made it feel more unique to me.
    But there are some fans who call them simply Square, so I guess it won't be too horrible an adjustment. >_>

    still calling them squeenixx though

    Fun fact for those who don't know

    Originally Square Enix used to be two separate gaming companies. One being Square/Squaresoft and the other being Enix. In 2003 the two companies merged together to create Square-Enix (it also says so in the last bit in the article)

    I'm curious as to why they took out the Enix though, I mean they must have some sort of reason

    I hadn't known that. I had always been curious about where "Square Enix" came from, since I had played plent of games branded "Squaresoft" rolls off the tongue pretty good, never would of thought that came from a merger.

    Interesting that they would drop the Enix now though.

    I knew that, but things will just be awkward... What will their logo look like, it just bothers me. I know they are two companies, but i think they worked well together... im curious if Enix contributed anything else besides technology for making FFXI online and more workers...

    Now, that's something I didn't know.

    In that case, I think removing "Square" would have been better, as Enix sounds better.

    I'm still calling them Sqaure Enix. How can I just call something Square? It doesn't have any ring to it, it sounds boring, and it's just not as original as Square Enix.

    You might as well call them Squaresoft then. >->

    I normally call them "Square". Though I'm not sure what purpose changing their name has. At least when they merged with Enix they had a reason but now...there really isn't a point is there? Maybe they've realized that since they're practically only dishing out Final Fantasy or Kingdom Hearts games they realized, "Hey! Enix is less important than us!" and decided to metaphorically backhand Enix. Then again, they've been merged for quite awhile so it's not like they'd care anyways.

    Square Soft doesn't have the same ring to it. Actually, I never knew they were called Squaresoft until I looked it up one day. Heck, I never even noticed the name Squaresoft whenever I played FFX or VIII. Now that's pretty sad.
