Kingdom Hearts Squall=Laguna Cloud=Vincent

in KH1, Squall was resemble as Laguna Loire. the long hair and the jacket. Cloud wears Vincents glove and his cape.

 

In Final Fantasy VIII, Squall was originally intended to be more feminine
In the end they made him real masculine but used his feminine design for Kingdom Hearts

 

Leon was meant to be Squall, not Laguna. He's just possibly a bit older than Squall was in FF VIII.

As for Cloud wearing Vincent attire, that was done because Nomura wanted to put Vincent into the game but could not manage it so instead he altered Cloud to have some of Vincent's clothing.

 

Yep, I guess that's it. They wanted Vincent in the game, but I think it had something to do with the budget... But I liked the combination of Vincent and Cloud :)

 

Well, Squall is Laguna's son... So it would make sense.​

 

wait, he is?! i thought Laguna was Squall's uncle (through the relationship with Ellone)

 

I never played the game
but from what i've read
it was implied but never directly stated

 

Squall is the son of both Raine and Laguna. Ellone was just adopted by Raine so Ellone is pretty much Squall's sister all thought just like lilbueno said it was never directly stated

I think it's really unlikely that Squall would be anyone elses son, especially because he refers to Ellone as 'sis', and Laguna had adopted her at some point.​

He bears a resemblance. So what? They looked somewhat alike in the FF VIII game too. He's still meant to be Squall Leonhart, hence Leon. Laguna's last name was Loire. He still looks like Squall as well with the telltale scars and it -is- Squall for all intents and purposes, whether he's grown out his hair some and wears a coat similar to Laguna's.

In the end the author of that article is just pointing out that it is further evidence to prove that Squall is indeed Laguna's son. In the FF VIII game, I think 99.9% of people gathered that anyway so the article is rather a mute point. Also, as others pointed out, Ellone is Squall's adopted sister as Laguna and Raine adopted her at some point.

Anyway
Leon looks different because that is his academy costume in Kh1, and changed into his ordinary outfit in KH2

 

Squall's outfit in FF8 and Leon's outfit in KH2 are almost the same except for the colors. Not much difference.

Cloud and Vincent combined confused me enough I didn't know who he was when I saw him the first time...Afterwards, it made me laugh a lot.

 

I don't know about Leon, but Cloud was a definite mix of Vincent and himself. The whole cape, and his hand were Vincent trademarks. Personally I would have just preferred that they had put Vincent in, but maybe they couldn't get the voiceover.
