Digital Art Spots in the Water

    Ok, I was planning on designing this for a long time but never got around to doing it. I tried once and failed. Drastically.

    It's actually a cover for a novel I've actually been working on for a month or so, I figuered it would give me something to do over summer vacation. I was kinda goin' for a "Carl Hiaasen" look with it. Anyway here it is:

    imo the top would look better with a gradient blend

    Your are correct, good sir. The book is a sort of "Bloody Mary" thing on a cruise ship.

    Unless intended, make the blood darker, cause people don't bleed pink lemonade. Maybe smoothen the transitioning waves. Text looks...ok.

    As a whole the text looks great with the cover, but the blending isn't very good between the cover and the other colors on it. The text is really great though, in my opinion. The waves at the top just need to be blended better. Right now they look like layers of stone rather than waves of color.
