I was away last weekend to a gaming convention down in England. Loads of people were there! EA, Intel, Pakard Bell and loads more. EA brought a whole host of games that are coming out soon and one of them was the full version of Spore. Anyone who has played the creature creator, you have seen nothing yet. The game takes you from Cell stage where you swim in a pool of mud to gaining legs and walkling on land and then to making tribes, civilization and finally conquering space. There are lots of mechanics that are interesting especially since the choices you make influence the ones you make later. It is a good great AWESOME and I'm addicted already. I even pre-ordered it from a certain four letterd game shop as soon as got home and I bought the Creature Creator. I don't know if it's out in the us yet but I know that in Europe it comes out on the 4th of September.

I just checked out the site and all of the videos. At first I wasn't to thrilled, but it looks a hell of a lot better then most of those 'civilization' games that people make, and it makes the Sims look like crap (which really is what sims is, no offense to you sim fans out there)

Do you know whether there will be a multiplayer mode? (I saw that in your universe, you get all the planets that people make added to your planets, but it also mentioned if it was single player. I don't want to play it though as much unless there is a way for people to compete within the same universe against eachother.

That's a bit complicated. You see, when you make a creature you get the option to share it. if you do then it goes into the creature database and there's a chance that it could pop up in someone elses game. However you can't interact with someone else but you're creature will be there as a CPU. I have already got some creatures on the database. But I'm not really sure. There were only 8 people playing at one time and only 1 or 2 were on Space stage which I never got to.

Hmmmm. So then basicly, if you get destroyed at the enemy planet, then the cpu gets destroyed, right?

and does the cpu copy the exsact actions of what you are doing at that very moment?

Hmmm. I wish I could buy the game, because it looks a lot better then I thought at first it would be. The theme of it is perfect. I especially love the fact that you can download the creator data for free, which really makes me glad cuz I was afraid that it would cost extra or something.

The one thing I respect about it though is that it really sends you through an entire worlds history. I mean, it is such a simple idea, but I mean, most people would never have a game where you start out so microscopic. it allows you to be as unique as possible.

and also, so if you are creating machines and stuff, then they have the same style as the creature you make, right? (in other words, you can be as creative as possible)

But it's better than the sims. They should just forget the sims and make this their main franchise.

lol, no. Spore isnt doing anything relatively new. Its basically an in-depth version of SimEarth combined with E.V.O. People will most likely have fun for a while and then start wondering what game they're working on next. Only loyalist will play it for a long time. The only interesting part will be the space part, as much games already have done things similar to the other stages (cell stage = flow, city part = civilization/simcity, etc). And if the space prototype reflects on the final version, it'll be pretty fun~

It's not quite like flOw though because you can change you're parts and it works on the anology that "there's always a bigger fish".
