Speed Racer!!!

I just saw it, opening night woot! This movie is AMAZING but make sure you see it on an HD theater screen, the standard ones are no good looking.

This movie brought elements from the original anime, and added a new depth to it, as well as I felt pushed the bar for this type of move. I will include a link at the end of my post.

Matthew Fox as Racer X was actually the best thing, X is my favorite character from any anime of all time, and he was represented superbly, with the mysteriousness of his character, and still having the depth needed to be developed as good as the others, his role is great.


All I can really say is "I want MORE!" and hope that there will be more to come, as this movie only covers about 3/4 of the anime, ending when SPOILER WARNING, HIGHLIGHT AT OWN RISK!!! Speed brings down the first conglomerate, and restores justice to the Grand Prix. End Spoiler


not to mention, Christina Ricci as Trixie, was about the hottest choice ever.

 

So it's good? I thought it was just gonna be another crap movie. I'll be sure to see it now, though...

 

if you like the series, your sure to love the movie, I have ALWAYS been a speed racer fan though, since I was like 3 years old lol..

 

I would see it if I could get past the hate I have for Emile Hirsch, but I can't.

 

It's actually good? The comercials made me not want to see it. It seemed dumb to me.

 

That's because Speed Racer -is- dumb. You've just gotta be a fan.

 

there is like a seven minute preview on yahoo and after seeing it, it tooks way to busy to me with everything going on. I've watched a few episodes here and there but not too sure if i will see this or not.

Good to see John Goodman acting again though...even if he looked exactly like Mario.

 

Just under curiosity does the film ever just freeze or a few seconds like the anime did?

I always thought that was funny about speed racer, all of a sudden it would just freeze

 

I'm sort of hesitant about seeing the movie. Because from the previews I've seen it sort of looks like Tokyo Drift...in SPACE.

Which just strikes me as ridiculous.

 

Oh yes, it does, during the fighting scene on one of the races, it's like watching the anime with real people, its awesome XD

and nothing like that really, its fast racing, unbelievable acrobatics, and purdy CGI cars lol. Watching it, you know its impossible, but it made me really wish.

I'm going to see it with my parents I've seen the anime like once or twice I don't like it that much, so hopefully the movie changes my mind.

 

it seems ok . Though the commercials do seem to make it "meh" . There's also a new cartoon of it on nickoldean.

I never liked Speed Racer.I always hated how they would freeze a scene.It would always get annoying.So I'm pretty much not going to go watch it.

 

yes it was loaded with graphics....but i still love it it was like amazing lol :D

 

I'm really confused by the name of the car. I thought it was the Mach 5 and some ads show that but others show a 6 instead. One commersial showed both.

 

uhhgg i didn't notice that till today and ya that is confusing :S

 

Looks like a kids movie,effects are too flashy,and the acting is bleh.Im not going into their attempt at comedy...xD

I'll prolly rent when it comes out,but it doesnt look that good to me.
