My first thought halfway through the trailer was "this is going to be excessively and annoyingly repetitive, innit?". But it actually looks like it could be pulled off well.... I think.
'Kay, so yeah, bumpage. I just wanted to say that this movie was pretty darn awesome. I think they sugar-coated the ending a little more than they should have. In my opinion, it would have been more hard-hitting if they didn't make it as happy of an ending. It was probably the production company that went "make this movie happy" like they usually do. :B|: But that's just me. Awesometastic movie anyhow.
I saw the movie a few weeks ago. I will agree that it was awesome, and I (personally) liked the ending. Sure, it did seem a little "happily ever after" but it opened up a whole bunch of questions into the Source Code! My only complaint would be that it was too short. I think it could've easily have gone an extra thirty minutes without losing anything.
Dragged into it a week ago with pop. It's one of those movies that's bad, but it's a forgettable bad that leaves no impact, you just leave the theatre sadly thinking up better things you could've done with those precious two hours now wasted. Most of the acting's dull, the main character's more annoying than sympathetic (his whining about wanting to call his daddy coming off as Skywalker-esque at some points), and then there's the lame tacked-on happy, romantic ending (made even worse by how the actor and actress had NO chemistry). I was consistently bored throughout. Still, something tells me and my dad are going to quote this movie quite often. "Everything's gonna be okay *KABOOOM!*", "I took your advice. It was very good advice". =p
Spoiler I am a bit of a sucker for bittersweet endings, so I was kind of pulling for that a bit more and kind of got let down. But you're right, it allowed for the whole "parallel universe" thing to show itself more. Which was an interesting concept. So now that you mention it, I am a bit torn about how it should have ended. :/8D:
Spoiler I just love that ending because it was so original. It made me wonder, how many times did this actually happen before. Something tragic happens, they start up the Source Code, he become attached to someone, and basically the whole plot over and over again. Hypothetically speaking, this guy could live forever!
I would hardly call that "whining" to call his dad. o.O He brought it up with Goodwin a couple of times, Spoiler and then called him at the end. No whining added. For me, the plot kept me on my toes. And I don't see how it could have been pull-your-eyeballs-out boring when there's an explosion every 10 minutes. Unappealing to some; maybe. But I would highly doubt "boring". xD Spoiler ...That'd be awesome! 8D Once you get old, just say "I'd like a new paralell universe, please." But then you'd have to basically save the life of the dead person's conscious you entered first. And then you'd look like him/her for the rest of your life. Eventually you might forget what you'd originally look like. @_@ *inception mindscrew'd*
I saw it opening night and let me tell you it didnt confuse me AT ALL! My mom on the other hand didnt understand the parallel universe concept. I agree the end of the movie was sugar coated quite a bit (as are many movies today... sadly) but regardless of that, it was still an entertaining movie that makes you think a bit... which is good for the people in the world who dont usually use their tiny, tiny brains.
I saw it... it was ok not amazing or anything but still an entertaining movie. The only thing that annoyed me about it was that the first 45 minutes of the movie were slightly confusing and very repeditive. But it did get better as the movie progressed and more things got explained. The movie also reminded me of Inception a little bit because both movies make you think a lot and both have very unique creative ideas. Overall it was a pretty good movie, But the start was soooo slow lol
I saw it today, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I enjoyed the thought of an alternate universe and the ending is just the sort of paradoxical ending I love in films. I suppose it isn't really a paradox because it happened but it still feels that way. I was constantly trying to guess who the bomber was from the start which is what I found interesting, and I also want to know what advice Shaun gave Christina xD Overall very good, I don't know if it's the sort of film I'd buy on DVD as it is one of those first time watching it impact, if that makes sense. Well I'd recommend it, it's not the best film but it creates a really interesting concept that is explored a lot and made to seem real.
From the very start, I kept saying "It's Russel Peters. It's Russel Peters." And then after we find out who the bomber is: "....I still say it's Russel Peters." xD
This movie was really freaking amazing. I was in love with it for every moment. I was totally surprised when Spoiler Jake Gyllenhal was really dead.
