My friend brought up something quite a while, and this reminded me of it.
I guess it IS kinda presumptuous to assume that the voice we heard in KH1 was Sora's mom...

What difference does it make if she's his mom, sister, grandma, stepmom or none of those?
    She's not important.

looool. Yeah, couldn't of said it better myself. Whoever it was, they don't matter at all.

Only reason they were in that scene was probably to show that Sora, Riku, and Kairi were just normal kids with normal lives.. at that point.

    What if she's Sora's wife.
This changes the playing field for shippers everywhere

That's so far from any possible reality that it sounds like you're just using this to increase your post count.

Because Red cares about the post count. In the end we only reply for the post count.

Definitely Sora's mom. Even though they aren't that important to the storyline, they were mentioned a bunch of times.

It's most likely his biological mother. They wouldn't go to such lengths to give Sora a family more complex than just regular parents since we didn't see them in that game and probably never will see them.

    But this is KH
There is literally no precedent that says they won't add some stupid plot twist, like Sora's mom is an alternate time travelling form of Namine from Jiminy's journal who set Sora on this journey in the first place

Her being a Xehanort is more reasonable. Young Xehanort did say that he sent Sora in the journey or something. She's Mommy-Nort.

Dude! That's got to be one of the 7 deadly taboos of Kingdom Hearts.

Anyways, I think most assume just because as far as we know he doesn't have a sister, otherwise I'm sure we'd have gotten SOME kind of notice by now, and she sounded around the right age to be Sora's mother. What's I'm wondering about is why they even bothered if they weren't ever going to show her, use the voice again, or any sort of reference whatsoever, except when people wonder about that scene. I mean, the most it was for was the show he had snuck out of his room, but we would have figured that out by the next scene.....it just makes me wonder sometimes why they put that in at all...unless they were showing how messy he was in his room.

Except there is. If there's one thing we know KH is not about, it's parents. Chances are we will never see her or hear her again. From a writing perspective there is no reason to give a voice without a face that we hear once a back-story that goes beyond, "this is his mom, she cooked dinner once." I suppose you could speculate that it could be his stepmother or sister or whatever, but it's nothing more than irrelevant speculation, i.e. a waste of time. And besides, chances are the writers themselves don't even know because it's just that unimportant.
