Not a fan of VR goggles, it's always seemed a bit like a gimmick and not really a viable way to play a game. I don't really see the point in it for Sony, I can see it might be trying to compete with the Kinect, but this seems strange to be trying to succeed an already failed bit of tech and on top of that compete with the Oculus Rift.

But, y'know, wait to actually hear more.

Eh, VR has never really been my thing. I just don't have an interest in stuff like this.

Just a controller guy, not an experience guy.

I have mix feelings about it.. while I see this as the next step towards the "Virtual reality" (A true VR, like Matrix or such, not just AR), and that I would really love (If you watch Sword art online you know where I am getting at). It seems to me that these technologies like Oculus/Kinect/moves/etc should be financed to that end, the middle course doesn't appeal to me.. Like it will be strange to use a glass and won't be able to see the controller (I know we don't focus on the control when we play, but I've experienced that playing/typing in the dark makes me miss more words/commands).

The other thing I don't like about it, is that the screens shouldn't be flats like they are in FPS, our range of vision isn't just 180º we can also see things close next to us and under us , I think these visions should be improved

Ahh. I was wondering when something like this was going to take stage, from whoever chucked it out there first. I'm actually very interested in the different experience that VR could provide, but I'm afraid of how buggy it might be upon first coming out ( much like everything else ). If they think they've done enough beta testing . . . Still, I have my qualms with something like this being released when I feel like it's still too soon.

I don't really consider this "true" VR ( i.e. having an avatar/being the character in the actual game ), but I think maybe it's a good step towards that, which is exciting.

The example video seems fun but extremely disorienting, I find that it could be dangerous. I guess that the sensitivity could be readjusted, but I think I might actually fall out of my seat doing something like that.
