I noticed that a new song thread has been created, and this thread is basically being based off of this thread from Site Assistance.

Since the thread is still relatively new, would it be possible to implement a rule that any time you post a video of the song you're listening to instead of just text, you should put it in a spoiler tag due to performance reasons?

On May 11th, I created a song thread over on SEGA Forum; I noticed that videos were causing slowdown. When I suggested videos be put in spoilers tags and had all videos before the suggestion put in spoiler tags, it made everything run normally. Furthermore, even with lower posts per page, this is still a problem, which is why I'm suggesting this.

Really looking forward to staff input here.

If you're having trouble loading the page because of it you should decrease the number of posts per page you view.

Well, I'm not currently, but that's what I'm saying.

You might have overlooked it, but I did say that regardless of how many posts there are per page, it's still a problem.

I'm not sure why the thread looping merited this being brought up again in a new thread, but I don't see it as a problem. Knowing that video players are big all browsers I know of skip loading those for last. If you want to watch the videos you'll need to wait that little bit of time either way. If you don't you can scroll past where it is. If the players loading still manages to cause inhibiting lag, then you need to either drop the page size or look to see if there is some other problem.

Also, since you say you're not actually having problems it makes the point fairly moot. If we receive complaints about how it is causing problems that would be another thing, but as it stands "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"

Well, currently, I'm not having problems, but that will probably change as the thread grows.

Also, right now, I have it show 40 posts per page, but when I had it showing the maximum 100 per page (see that Song Thread Performance thread), even when the video wasn't on the very top post, I would get slowdown and freezing when the thread was loading, and it also happens with 40 posts per page, just not as bad.

Dude, 100 posts per page is just for professionals and people who post content of high value and is actually useful for them to increase their posts per page to that number. 40 is too much as well. The default one which is 10 I think, is great for everyone! Raise it to 20, or 30 max; because above that you're only putting strain on your RAM and CPU.

Well, the reason I have it show a lot of posts per page is because I prefer to view as much as possible (whatever the maximum page per posts is) before having to go to the next page.

Of course that's the reason, you couldn't possibly do it for swag. But my suggestion is that you lower it because if your computer was alive it would cry.
