Every song in existence has some sort of meaning behind it. That's pretty much why music was created, to express one's feelings. Even if it's a song about a magical fish that likes to eat tulips, there's still a meaning behind it. (a really weird meaning, but still a meaning) The only two reasons I can think of to listen to music are either 1. It has a good beat or 2. You like/understand the meaning behind it. Some people do not look deep enough and fully understand the meaning of a song, but others will endeavor to know it's true meaning. So to answer your question, yes I have thought about it XD
I love finding song meanings. I've done it for extra credit in English once, but I mostly just do it to better understand the lyricist's feeling and the band's style.
i like to find song meanings and hidden song meanings song meaning ex. "Stand" by rascal flatts: when your down on your luck, just keep your chin up. hidden song meanins: "Puff the magic dragon": cigaretts.
Yes! Like in kh1, the opening version of Simple and Clean. I just thought of it as a just... happy-ish song, but once I actually thought about the lyrics, it is way more than that.
Every single song in the entire Silent Hill series is chocked full of symbolism. Every line is carefully worded to get a certain meaning across. Some are even extended metaphors. It's fascinating to break them down and in the end they still end up making total sense. It's truely wonderful~ I'd be willing to bet most songs out there do have a meaning to someone, even if it wasn't origionally intended to be the case.
I always bring a point like that in English class when we have to do this with literature -- Songs can mean different things to different people. I think it depends on what the person is going through or how they're feeling.
